The 2011 Bayelsa State House of Assembly election was held on April 26, 2011, to elect members of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly in Nigeria. All the 24 seats were up for election in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly. [1]

Nestor Binabo from PDP representing Sagbama II constituency was elected Speaker, while Fini Angaye from PDP representing Kolokuma/Opokuma II constituency was elected Deputy Speaker. [2]

Bayelsa is a state in the South South region of Nigeria, located in the core of the Niger Delta. Bayelsa State was created in 1996 and was carved out from Rivers State, making it one of the newest states in the federation. The capital, Yenagoa, is susceptible to high risk of annual flooding. A 4th term member of the assembly, he served as the 6th speaker of the house and was re-elected speaker of the 7th assembly unchallenged on 6 June 2023. He was nominated for the speakership position by, Monday Bubou a member of the PDP representing Southern Ijaw Constituency 2 and seconded by Bernard Kenebai also of the PDP representing Sagbama Constituency 2 in the state assembly.
