Upon the opening of the 9th State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa (APC-Agege I) was elected as Speaker of the House while Wasiu Sanni (APC-Lagos Island I) and Agunbiade Sanai (APC-Ikorodu I) became Deputy Speaker and House Leader, respectively. [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] [13]

Lagos State is a state in southwestern Nigeria. Of the 36 states, it is both the most populous and smallest in area. Lagos State University, also known as LASU, is located in Ojo, with sub-campuses at Ikeja and Epe both towns in Lagos State, Nigeria. The university caters for over 35,000 students. The University was established during the Administration of Late Lateef Kayode Jakande. The university offers diploma, degree and post graduate programmes, including an MBA programme. LASU was ranked among the top 600 universities in the world by in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2020. On 23 June, 2021 LASU emerged as the best young university in Nigeria having been below the age of 50 years to be added. Times Higher Education ranked the Lagos State University as the second best university in Nigeria on the 2 September 2020, and was the only state university included in the rankings for 2022. The university has attracted international funding, including for the establishment of a World Bank Group Africa Centre for Excellence on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Lagos State House of Assembly</span>

The Lagos State House of Assembly is the state legislature of Lagos State. It is situated along Governor's Avenue in the state capital, Ikeja. The House of Assembly is currently under the All Progressives Congress political party which is the current ruling party in Lagos State. There have been nine different house of assemblies, the very first one was inaugurated 2 October 1979 and the present one was inaugurated 7 June 2019. There are forty members of the House of Assembly, two represent one of the twenty various local government areas in Lagos.

Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa is a Nigerian lawyer and politician who has served as speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly since 2015.

The 8th Lagos State House of Assembly is the legislative branch of the Lagos State Government inaugurated on June 8, 2015. The assembly will run its course till June 3, 2019. The assembly is unicameral with 41 representatives elected from each constituencies of the state. The incumbent Speaker of the 8th Legislative Assembly is Rt. Hon Mudashiru Obasa and the Deputy speaker is Hon. Eshinloku Sanni. The election of representative for the 8th legislative assembly was held on April 28, 2015.

An election for Governor of Lagos State took place on 11 April 2015. All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Akinwunmi Ambode, who is a former accountant general of Lagos State, defeated People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Jimi Agbaje and Alliance for Democracy (AD) candidate Bolaji Ogunseye. The governor and deputy governor are elected on the same ticket.

The 2023 Lagos State gubernatorial election will take place on 18 March 2023, to elect the Governor of Lagos State, concurrent with elections to the Lagos State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election will be held two weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent APC Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is eligible to run for re-election and has been renominated by his party.

The 2019 Nigerian Senate election in Ondo State held on February 23, 2019, to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Ondo State. Akinyelure Patrick Ayo representing Ondo Central, and Nicholas Tofowomo representing Ondo South both won on the platform of the People's Democratic Party (Nigeria), while Robert Ajayi Boroffice representing Ondo North won on the platform of All Progressives Congress.

The 2015 Lagos State House of Assembly election was held on 11 April 2015, to elect members of the Lagos State House of Assembly in Nigeria. All the 40 seats were up for election in the Lagos State House of Assembly. APC won 32 seats, while PDP won 8 seats.

The 2015 Ogun State House of Assembly election was held on April 11, 2015, to elect members of the Ogun State House of Assembly in Nigeria. All the 26 seats were up for election in the Ogun State House of Assembly. APC won 17 seats, while PDP won 9 seat.

The 2023 Nigerian Senate elections in Lagos State was held on 25 February 2023, to elect the 3 federal Senators from Lagos State, one from each of the state's three senatorial districts. The elections coincided with the 2023 presidential election, as well as other elections to the Senate and elections to the House of Representatives; with state elections being held two weeks later. Primaries were held between 4 April and 9 June 2022.

Wasiu Eshinlokun Sanni is a Nigerian politician who has served as deputy speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly since 2015. In February 2023, he was elected to the Nigerian Senate to represent Lagos Central senatorial district in the 10th National Assembly.
