Local elections in Enugu State were held on 23 February 2022. [1] The Peoples Democratic Party won control of all 17 councils in the state. [2]

The 2015 Enugu State gubernatorial election was the 6th gubernatorial election of Enugu State. on April 11, 2015, the People's Democratic Party nominee Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi won the election, defeating Okey Ezea of the All Progressives Congress.

The 2023 Enugu State gubernatorial election will take place on 11 March 2023, to elect the Governor of Enugu State, concurrent with elections to the Enugu State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election will be held two weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent PDP Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a third term.

The 2022 Nigerian elections will be held throughout 2022. During the year, the governors of Ekiti and Osun states will be elected on 18 June and 16 July, respectively. Additionally, there will also be elections to fill vacant seats in the House of Representatives and state houses of assembly along with local elections in Adamawa State, Benue State, Edo State, Enugu State, the Federal Capital Territory, Imo State, Katsina State, and Kebbi State.

The 2023 Nigerian Senate elections in Enugu State will be held on 25 February 2023, to elect the 3 federal Senators from Enugu State, one from each of the state's three senatorial districts. The elections will coincide with the 2023 presidential election, as well as other elections to the Senate and elections to the House of Representatives; with state elections being held two weeks later. Primaries were held between 4 April and 9 June 2022.
