2019 Ogun State gubernatorial election

The election for Governor of Ogun State took place on 9 March (postponed from 2 March). The election was held concurrently with various state-level elections. All Progressive Congress candidate Dapo Abiodun, who is a former senatorial aspirant and chairman of CAC, defeated Allied Peoples Movement candidate Adekunle Akinlade, African Democratic Congress candidate Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, Peoples Democratic Party candidate Buruji Kashamu and Action Democratic Party candidate Dimeji Bankole.

Ibikunle AmosunListen is a Nigerian politician, former governor of Ogun State and two-term senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He first served as an elected senator for Ogun Central district of Ogun State, Nigeria from April 2003 to April 2007, and reelected in 2019. After an unsuccessful bid for governor of Ogun State in April 2007, he was elected governor of the state on the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) platform in 2011. He contested again for a second term as governor under the All Progressives Congress and after winning the election, was sworn into office on 29 May 2015.

Buruji KashamuListen was a Nigerian politician who served as a Senator representing Ogun East in the 8th National Assembly. Ogun East covers eleven local government areas: Ijebu North East, Ijebu North, Ijebu-Ode, Ijebu East, Ikenne, Odogbolu, Remo North, Sagamu, and Ogun Waterside. Senator Kashamu was the vice-chairman of the Senate Committee on States and Local Government.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is a political party in Nigeria. As of 2022, Ralph Nwosu is the National Chairman.There are 2 ADC members currently in the Nigerian National Assembly. Adegboyega Isiaka Oyetola is a Nigerian politician who served as Governor of Osun State from 2018 to 2022. He contested for the Osun State gubernatorial seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the September 2018 gubernatorial election and won. On 23 March 2019, a tribunal declared him to have not been legally returned and ordered INEC to issue certificates of return to Senator Adeleke of the PDP, which was contested at the Court of Appeal. Prior to his winning the election, he was the Chief of Staff to Rauf Aregbesola, his predecessor.

Adedapo Oluseun AbiodunListen is a Nigerian businessman and politician, who has served as Governor of Ogun State since 2019. He won the 2019 general elections under the platform of the All Progressive Congress. He was the board Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Commission. Prior to his assumption of office, he was the managing director of Heyden Petroleum and the founder of First Power Limited. On 10 March 2019, he was declared Governor-Elect of Ogun State by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Adekunle Abdulkabir AkinladeListen is a Nigerian politician. He represented Egbado South and Ipokia federal constituency in the House of Representatives. He left the All Progressive Congress and joined the Allied Peoples Movement to run for Governor of Ogun State in the 2019 election.

The politics of Ogun State function within the framework of a presidential republic, with the Governor of Ogun State as both head of state and head of government. Ogun State is known for a politically engaged citizenry. The official seat of government is in Abeokuta. Under the Constitution, the executive power is vested in the Governor. Such authority may also be exercised through the Deputy Governor or Commissioners. Legislative power is vested in a 26-member unicameral House of Assembly. Judicial power is exercised solely by the judiciary of Ogun State.

The 2019 Taraba State gubernatorial election occurred on March 9, 2019. Incumbent People's Democratic Party Governor Darius Ishaku won re-election for a second term in 12 local government areas, defeating former acting governor and All Progressives Congress's Sani Danladi who won in the remaining four with a margin of 157,69[8] votes, and several minor party candidates.

The 2019 Nigerian gubernatorial elections were held for state governors in 31 out of 36 Nigerian states. All but three were held on 2 March 2019 with the election for Rivers State being postponed until 4 April, while the Kogi State and Bayelsa State elections were both held on 16 November. The last regular gubernatorial elections for all states were in 2015.

The 2015 Ogun State gubernatorial election occurred on 11 April 2015. Incumbent Governor APC's Ibikunle Amosun won election for a second term, defeating PDP's Adegboyega Isiaka and several minor party candidates. Amosun received 60.38% of the vote.

The 2022 Ekiti State gubernatorial election took place on 18 June 2022, to elect the Governor of Ekiti State. Incumbent APC Governor Kayode Fayemi was term-limited and could not seek re-election to a third term. Former Secretary to the State Government Abiodun Oyebanji held the office for the APC by a 30% margin over first runner-up and SDP nominee—former Governor Olusegun Oni.

The 2022 Osun State gubernatorial election took place on 16 July 2022, to elect the governor of Osun State. Incumbent All Progressives Congress Governor Gboyega Oyetola was eligible for re-election but lost by a 3.5% margin to former Senator Ademola Adeleke—the nominee of the Peoples Democratic Party. Adeleke and his running mate, Kola Adewusi, were inaugurated on 27 November. However, the Election Petition Tribunal overturned the result on 27 January 2023, awarding the win to Oyetola; Adeleke immediately appealed the ruling and remains in office pending the results of further litigation.

The 2023 Ogun State gubernatorial election will take place on 11 March 2023, to elect the Governor of Ogun State, concurrent with elections to the Ogun State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election will be held two weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent APC Governor Dapo Abiodun is eligible to run for re-election.

The 2019 Nigerian Senate election in Ogun State held on February 23, 2019, to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Ogun State. Ibikunle Amosun Oyelaja representing Ogun Central, Ramoni Olalekan Mustapha representing Ogun East, and Tolulope Akinyemi Odebiyi representing Ogun West all won on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

The 2015 Nigerian Senate election in Ogun State held on February 23, 2015, to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Ogun State. Lanre Tejuosho representing Ogun Central and Joseph Dada representing Ogun West won on the platform of the All Progressives Congress while Buruji Kashamu representing Ogun East won on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party
