Adolescence is an upcoming four-part Netflix television series from Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham and directed by Philip Barantini.
A school boy gets arrested for the murder of a classmate. The series will be filmed in one continuous shot. [1]
The series was announced in March 2024 with the working title Adolescence to be written by Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham. [2] It is a four-part limited crime drama told in a real-time, using a one-shot style, with Phillip Barantini as director. Warp Films, Matriarch Productions and Plan B Entertainment are producing the series for Netflix. [3] [4] Jo Johnson is series producer, and Graham, Thorne and Barantini are executive producers alongside Mark Herbert, Emily Feller, Hannah Walters, Jeremy Kleiner, Dede Gardner and Nina Wolarsky. Ashley Walters and Erin Doherty also star. Filming began in the United Kingdom in July 2024, and finished in around October 2024. [6] [7] Filming locations include South Kirkby, South Elmsall and Sheffield in Yorkshire. [8] [9]
The series is expected to be broadcast in early 2025. [10]
Stephen Joseph Graham is a British actor. He began his career in 1990, with early notable roles including Tommy in Snatch (2000) and Shang in Gangs of New York (2002), before his breakthrough role as Andrew "Combo" Gascoigne in the film This Is England (2006).
