At the 2010 census there were 1,352 people, 549 households, and 392 families living in the town. The population density was 37.4 inhabitants per square mile (14.4/km2). There were 779 housing units at an average density of 21.5 per square mile (8.3/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 97.3% White, 0.1% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.6% Asian, 0.1% from other races, and 1.8% from two or more races. Of the 549 households 29.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.2% were married couples living together, 10.4% had a female householder with no husband present, 3.8% had a male householder with no wife present, and 28.6% were non-families. 22.8% of households were one person and 7.8% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.46 and the average family size was 2.81.
The median age in the town was 44.1 years. 20.1% of residents were under the age of 18; 7.4% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 24% were from 25 to 44; 34.3% were from 45 to 64; and 14.3% were 65 or older. The gender makeup of the town was 49.4% male and 50.6% female.
