Taylorsville is a town in Bartow and Polk counties in the U.S. state of Georgia. The population was 252 at the 2020 census, up 20.0% from 210 at the 2010 census.

State Route 61 (SR 61) is a 107.1-mile-long (172.4 km) state highway that travels south-to-north through portions of Carroll, Douglas, Paulding, Bartow, Gordon, and Murray counties in the western and northwestern parts of the U.S. state of Georgia. The highway connects the Carrollton area with the Tennessee state line, via Villa Rica, Dallas, Cartersville, and Chatsworth. The portion of the highway from just northeast of Carrollton to Villa Rica was formerly the path of US 78S. When that highway was decommissioned, it was redesignated as US 78 Alternate.

As of the 2020 census, the Chattanooga metropolitan area had a population of 562,647. This metropolitan area traverses two time zones.
The Chattanooga–Cleveland–Dalton, TN–GA–AL Combined Statistical Area covers a total of thirteen counties – seven in southeast Tennessee, six in northwest Georgia and one in northeast Alabama. The Northwest Georgia Council is a local council of the Boy Scouts of America which currently encompasses Bartow, Chattooga, Floyd, Gordon, Murray, Polk, and Whitfield counties. In the early 1980s, affiliations with Catoosa and Murray counties were transferred to the Cherokee Area Council of Chattanooga, Tennessee, but associations with Murray county were later returned to the Northwest Georgia Council in 1995. The first troop chartered by the Northwest Georgia Council was Troop 12 of Dalton, Georgia, which was established by Mr. W. M. Sapp on March 14, 1911. The council's oldest continually chartered troop, Troop 12 of Adairsville, Georgia, was chartered soon after in 1915. The headquarters of the Northwest Georgia Council are located in Rome, Georgia. The current Scout Executive for the Northwest Georgia Council is Matt Hart.
The 2004 United States Senate election in Georgia took place on November 2, 2004, alongside other elections to the United States Senate in other states as well as elections to the United States House of Representatives and various state and local elections. This election was the fifth consecutive even-number year in which a senate election was held in Georgia after elections in 1996, 1998, 2000, and 2002. Incumbent Democratic U.S. Senator Zell Miller decided to retire instead of seeking a first full term in office, leaving an open seat.
The 2000 United States Senate special election in Georgia was held on November 7, 2000. Incumbent Democratic U.S. Senator Zell Miller, who was appointed by Governor Roy Barnes to replace the deceased Paul Coverdell, overwhelmingly won election to serve the remainder of the term. Miller defeated Republican Mack Mattingly, a former U.S. Senator in a landslide of over 20 points, carrying 149 of the state's 159 counties.

U.S. Highway 27 (US 27) is a 356.088-mile-long (573.068 km) United States Numbered Highway in the U.S. state of Georgia. It travels south-to-north through the western part of the state near the Alabama state line. The whole route is Governor's Road Improvement Program (GRIP) corridor EDS-27, providing the bulk of the Tallahassee, Florida–Chattanooga, Tennessee corridor. All of US 27 in Georgia runs concurrently with State Route 1 (SR 1) and is also designated as the Martha Berry Highway. It connects Bainbridge, Colquitt, Blakely, Cuthbert, Lumpkin, Cusseta, Columbus, LaGrange, Carrollton, Bremen, Cedartown, Rome, Summerville, LaFayette, Fort Oglethorpe, and Rossville.
Tiarella wherryi is a species of flowering plant in the family Saxifragaceae. The specific name wherryi recognizes Edgar Wherry, the botanist who collected some of the first specimens in the early 1930s. Commonly called Wherry's foamflower, it is the southernmost of all species of Tiarella in the southeastern United States, where its range approaches the Gulf Coast in southern Alabama.
The 1980 United States presidential election in Georgia took place on November 4, 1980, in Georgia as part of the 1980 United States presidential election. The Democratic Party candidate, incumbent President Jimmy Carter, won his home state of Georgia over former California Governor Ronald Reagan by 238,565 votes, one of just seven victories in the election.
