Since September 2017 the 12561/12562 Swatantra Senani Superfast Express with new LHB coach has 1 AC 1st Class, 2 AC 2 tier, 6 AC 3 tier,1 AC 3E, 6 Sleeper class, 3 General Unreserved coaches & 1 Pantry car, 1Physical Handicapped coach,and 1 power generator cars. [1]

Swatantra Senani SuperFast was initially introduced between New Delhi and Muzaffarpur. Later it got extended to Darbhanga and then in 2017 this train got extended to Jaynagar

From 13 September 2020 the operating speed of this train has been raised to 130 km/h between Varanasi junction (Banaras) and Ghaziabad.
