Station identification is the practice of radio and television stations and networks identifying themselves on-air, typically by means of a call sign or brand name. This may be to satisfy requirements of licensing authorities, a form of branding, or a combination of both. As such, it is closely related to production logos, used in television and cinema alike.
HD Radio (HDR) is a trademark for a so-called in-band on-channel (IBOC) digital radio broadcast technology. HD radio generally simulcasts an existing analog radio station in digital format with less noise and with additional text information. HD Radio is used primarily by AM and FM radio stations in the United States, U.S. Virgin Islands, Canada, Mexico and the Philippines, with a few implementations outside North America.
WHRZ-LP is a non-commercial low-power radio station in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Owned by the First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, it broadcasts a youth-oriented Christian CHR format. The station is licensed by the FCC to broadcast with an ERP of 47 watts (.047 kW). Its transmitter is located on the former WSPA-TV tower in downtown Spartanburg. The Cleveland Guardians Radio Network is an American radio network composed of 29 radio stations for the Cleveland Guardians, a professional baseball team in Major League Baseball (MLB). Cleveland sister stations WTAM and WMMS serve as the network's two flagships; WTAM also relays its signal over a low-power FM translator. The network also includes 24 affiliates in the U.S. states of Ohio and Pennsylvania: fifteen AM stations, eleven of which supplement their signals with low-power FM translators; seven full-power FM stations; and two HD Radio subchannels that supplement their signal with low-power FM translators.
The Las Vegas Raiders Radio Network is an American radio network composed of 52 radio stations which carry English-language coverage of the Las Vegas Raiders, a professional football team in the National Football League (NFL). Las Vegas market stations KRLV (920 AM) and KOMP (92.3 FM) serve as the network's two flagships. The network also includes 50 affiliates in the U.S. states of Nevada, California, Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii, Kansas, Minnesota, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas and Utah: 34 AM stations, sixteen of which supplement their signals with a low-power FM translator and one repeated over an HD Radio FM digital subchannel; and 16 full-power FM stations, four of which supplement their signals with a low-power FM translator. The Ohio State Sports Network from Learfield is an American radio network consisting of 62 radio stations which carry coverage of Ohio State Buckeyes football and men's basketball. Co-owned WBNS and WBNS-FM, both licensed to Columbus, Ohio, serve as the network's 2 flagship stations. The network also includes 60 affiliates in the U.S. states of Ohio and West Virginia: 33 AM stations, 22 of which extend their signals with low-power FM translators; 26 full-power FM stations; and one HD Radio digital subchannel which supplements its signal with a low-power FM translator. W240CP is a low-powered translator-style radio station licensed to and serving Bowling Green, Kentucky. It airs a classic hip hop format that simulcasts a second HD Radio subchannel of parent station WOVO, which is licensed to Horse Cave, but also serves Bowling Green and Glasgow. Known on air as "95.9 The Vibe", it broadcasts with a frequency of 95.9 MHz. The translator's transmitter is located near Rockfield.
W239BT is a low-powered radio translator station that is licensed to Glasgow, Kentucky, and primarily serving the Caveland area and the Bowling Green, Kentucky vicinity. Owned by SOKY Radio, Inc., it's stunting with a Christmas music format at a frequency of 95.7 MHz, and it is known on air as "Santa 102.3/95.7". W239BT transmits from a tower located near Haywood, just southwest of Glasgow.
K-Love Classics was a Christian classic hits radio network owned by Educational Media Foundation (EMF) and was carried over FM stations, translators, and HD subchannels in the United States. Such stations include WAIW 88.1 in Wheaton, Illinois. The network was one of the formats produced by EMF. Airing Christian music from the 1980s, 1990s, and early in the decade of the 2000s, the K-Love Classics format debuted in June 2018 as an internet-only station but quickly moved to terrestrial radio on FM and HD Radio subchannels after a large response to the new format.
WAKS-HD2 is a digital subchannel of WAKS, a commercial radio station licensed to Akron, Ohio, which features an urban contemporary format known as "Real 106.1". Owned by iHeartMedia, Inc., WAKS-HD2 serves Greater Cleveland and surrounding Northeast Ohio and is the FM radio home of Cleveland Charge basketball. Using the proprietary technology HD Radio for its main digital transmission, WAKS-HD2 is also rebroadcast over low-power analog translator W291BV (106.1 FM), and streams online via iHeartRadio. WAKS-HD2's studios are located at the Six Six Eight Building in downtown Cleveland's Gateway District, while the WAKS-HD2 and W291BV transmitters reside in Brecksville and Parma, respectively.
Channel Q is an LGBT lifestyle talk and EDM top 40 radio network created, owned, and operated by Audacy, Inc. The network airs on the Audacy internet radio service, as well as on Audacy-owned terrestrial radio stations throughout the United States. Channel Q's programming schedule consists of LGBT-centered talk shows, most notably a rebooted version of Loveline, along with Dance/Top 40 music on afternoons, late nights, and weekends.
Black Information Network (BIN) is a radio network and content brand owned by iHeartMedia. Launched on June 30, 2020, it is an all-news radio network of stations targeting African American communities, carrying mostly important national news headline stories as well as current events and special interest features. Some stations also incorporate local news, traffic, weather and sports updates into the network feed. Tony Coles is the network's president and Tanita Myers is the news director.
