Transport in Tanzania includes road, rail, air and maritime networks. The road network is 86,472 kilometres (53,731 mi) long, of which 12,786 kilometres (7,945 mi) is classified as trunk road and 21,105 kilometres (13,114 mi) as regional road. The rail network consists of 3,682 kilometres (2,288 mi) of track. Commuter rail service is in Dar es Salaam only. There are 28 airports, with Julius Nyerere International being the largest and the busiest. Ferries connect Mainland Tanzania with the islands of Zanzibar. Several other ferries are active on the countries' rivers and lakes.

The Hurstbridge line is a commuter railway line in the city of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Operated by Metro Trains Melbourne, it is the city's seventh longest metropolitan railway line at 36.7 kilometres (22.8 mi). The line runs from Flinders Street station in central Melbourne to Hurstbridge station in the north-east, serving 28 stations via Clifton Hill, Heidelberg, Greensborough, and Diamond Creek. The line operates for approximately 19 hours a day with 24 hour service available on Friday and Saturday nights. During peak hour, headways of up to 15 minutes are operated with services every 20-30 minutes during off-peak hours. Trains on the Hurstbridge line run with a two three-car formations of X'Trapolis 100 trainsets.

Kigoma Region is one of Tanzania's 31 administrative regions. The regional capital is the city of Kigoma. Kigoma Region borders Kagera Region, Geita Region, Katavi Region, Tabora Region, DRC and Burundi According to the 2012 national census, the region had a population of 2,127,930, which was higher than the pre-census projection of 1,971,332. For 2002-2012, the region's 2.4 percent average annual population growth rate was tied for the fourteenth highest in the country. It was also the sixteenth most densely populated region with 57 people per square kilometer. With a size of 45,066 square kilometres (17,400 sq mi), the region is slightly smaller than Estonia.

The region is comparable in size to the combined land area of the nation state of North Macedonia. Ruangwa is one of six districts of the Lindi Region of Tanzania. It is bordered to the north by the Kilwa District, to the south by the Mtwara Region and to the west by the Nachingwea District.

Central Coast Highway is a 50-kilometre (31 mi) highway through the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia. It connects Pacific Motorway (M1) at Kariong with Pacific Highway (A43) at Doyalson. The highway was named after the region it goes through, to provide an easily identifiable route for visitors to the region, and is designated route A49.

Pinyinyi is an administrative ward in the Ngorongoro District of the Arusha Region of Tanzania. The area was historically part of Sonjo people's ancestral land. The Masai arrived in the 1950s, eventually the Sonjo abandoned Hajaro in 1987 due to Masai violence over grazing land. The Maasai renamed it Pinyinyi. In 2016 the Tanzania National Bureau of Statistics report there were 5,230 people in the ward, from 8,482 in 2012.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Transpennine Route Upgrade</span> Rail investments in northern England, proposed November 2021

The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) is a major investment being made in the railway between York and Manchester via Leeds and Huddersfield – the 76 miles (122 km) northern route over the Pennines, most of which is also known as the Huddersfield line. As of 2023, the line is heavily used but is slow and lacks capacity. It has Victorian infrastructure, covers difficult terrain including the 3-mile (4.8 km) Standedge Tunnel, and has poor access roads. So, improving it is seen as challenging and very disruptive.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Mtwara-Mikindani District, Mtwara</span> District of Mtwara Region, Tanzania

Mtwara Mikindani Municipal District Council is one of eight regional councils of the Mtwara Region in Tanzania. It is bordered to the north by the Lindi Region, to the east by the Indian Ocean and to the south and west by the Mtwara District. In 2016, the municipality has a total population of 113,732.
