The Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) is a public university system in Dominican Republic, with its flagship campus in Ciudad Universitaria neighborhood of Santo Domingo and regional campuses in many cities of the country. It was founded by Jose Gabriel Garcia and Emiliano Tejera in 1866 as the Professional Institute, replacing the former Universidad Santo Tomás de Aquino, one of the first universities of the Western Hemisphere (Americas), which was founded unofficially by a Papal bull in 1538, officially by royal decree in 1558, and closed in 1822. It was later renamed University of Santo Domingo in 1914.

The Central University of Venezuela is a public university located in Caracas, Venezuela. Founded in 1721, it is the oldest university in Venezuela and one of the oldest in the Western Hemisphere.

There are 89 universities in Spain, most of which are supported by state funding. 39 Spanish universities are private, of which 7 are affiliated with the Catholic Church.

The Federal University of Itajubá, is a federal university located in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. It is considered the first technological university and one of top ten engineering schools in Brazil. Extremely reputable among Brazilian engineering schools, it carries more than 100 years of tradition in teaching, with emphasis on Electrical Engineering – which is one of the best research institutes on Power Systems field in Latin America – Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Materials Engineering, Automation and Control engineering and Computer Engineering.

The National University of the Northeast is an Argentine national university. It is located in the cities of Corrientes and Resistencia, capital cities of the Provinces of Corrientes and Chaco respectively, and was established on December 4, 1956. Known as the University of the Sun, it was the seventh-largest university in Argentina by student enrollment numbers as of 2017.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Modesto Seara Vázquez</span> Spanish jurist and academic (1931–2022)

Modesto Seara Vázquez was a Spanish-born Mexican jurist and academic. He lived in several countries but has spent most of his life in Mexico. He has actively participated in Mexican life as a professor at the National Autonomous University of Mexico and since 1988 as the Rector of the Oaxaca State University System in the State of Oaxaca. He died in Mexico City on 26 December 2022, at the age of 91.

The North American Consortium on Legal Education (NACLE) comprises 13 participating law schools in Canada, Mexico, and the United States. The general purpose of NACLE is to promote and share understanding of the legal systems within North American countries. The specific purpose of the Consortium is to enhance the capabilities of each member to provide high quality legal education and research appropriate to the demands of the professional environment in North America.

Claus-Wilhelm Canaris was a German jurist. Until his retirement in 2005 he was professor of Private Law, Commercial law and Labour law the University of Munich.

Michael Espinoza Coila is a peruvian lawyer, university professor, human rights activist and catechist, dedicating himself to Criminology and information technology (ICT). He is known for developing the principle-law-procedure of the best interests of the student, is also a university student law activist.
