Miss Grand Netherlands 2018 was the third edition of the Miss Grand Netherlands beauty pageant, held at the Apollo Hotel, Vinkeveen, Netherlands, on June 17, 2018. [1] [2] Ten candidates who qualified through the casting process held earlier in March competed for the title, [2] [3] and a businessperson from North Brabant, Kimberley Xhofleer, was named the winner. [1] [4] Kimberley then represented the country at the Miss Grand International 2018 pageant in Yangon, Myanmar, but was unplaced. [5]

Initially, the pageant was expected to be participated by twelve national candidates. Still, two of them, Deborah van Hemert of Gelderland and Ashley van Bree of Overijssel withdrew for undisclosed reasons. [6] [7]

Moreover, the first runner-up in the pageant, Safina Barsatie of South Holland, who was born in Suriname's capital, Paramaribo, was later appointed as "Miss Grand Suriname 2018", [8] but she also was unplaced at the international contest in Myanmar. [5]

Miss International 2009, the 49th Miss International pageant, was held on November 28, 2009, at the Sichuan International Tennis Center in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. The pageant was originally scheduled to be held on November 7, 2009, at The Venetian Macao in Macau, but the host committee backed out. 65 contestants competed for the coveted title. Alejandra Andreu of Spain crowned Anagabriela Espinoza of Mexico as the new titleholder.

The Netherlands Symphony Orchestra is a Dutch symphony orchestra. The home of the orchestra is the Muziekcentrum in Enschede. The orchestra was previously known in Dutch as Orkest van het Oosten, but in October 2011 changed its Dutch name to align with the English name. At the same time the Dutch abbreviation "OvhO" was replaced with "NedSym." Due to objections from the Amsterdam-based Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, the Enschede orchestra had to change its name again and from 2014 till 2019 was known as HET Symfonieorkest. Internationally it keeps employing the name "Netherlands Symphony Orchestra".

Seven candidates who qualified through the casting process held earlier in January competed for the title, and a twenty-three-year-old communication and multimedia designer from North Brabant, Kelly van den Dungen, was named the winner. Kelly then represented the country at the Miss Grand International 2017 pageant in Phú Quốc, Vietnam, where she was placed among the top 20 finalists.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Miss Grand Netherlands 2023</span> 4th Miss Grand Netherlands competition, beauty pageant edition

Miss Grand Netherlands 2023 was the fourth edition of the Miss Grand Netherlands beauty pageant, held on June 4, 2023, at the Claus Event Center in the city of Hoofddorp. Eleven candidates, who qualified for the national stage through an audion held in February and then were assigned to represents one of the country's provinces, competed for the title.

Miss Grand Suriname is a national beauty pageant title awarded to Suriname representatives competing at the Miss Grand International contest. From 2014 to 2016 the right to send Surinamese candidates to compete at the mentioned international stage belonged to the national pageant of Miss Tropical Beauties Suriname, which is headed by Gietanjali Thakoer. Miss Grand Suriname title was first awarded in 2014 to the winner of Miss Tropical Beauties Suriname, Tashana Losche, who then competed at Miss Grand International 2014 in Thailand, but was unplaced.

The 6th edition of the Miss Grand International pageant was held at the One Entertainment Park in Yangon, Myanmar on October 25, 2018, in which candidates from 75 countries and territories participated. These candidates were elected as the country representatives through different methods, such as through the Miss Grand National which was held to select the country representative for Miss Grand International specifically, or appointed by another national pageant organizer, in which the main winner was sent to compete on other international stages. Some of them were assigned as representatives without competing at any national pageant in this particular year.
