Miss Grand South Africa 2016 was the second edition of the Miss Grand South Africa beauty pageant, held on August 6, 2016, at the Atterbury Theatre, Pretoria. [1] [2] [3] [4] Seven candidates, who qualified for the national pageant via an online screening performed earlier in April, competed for the title, [5] and a professional model from the province of Limpopo, Caitlin Harty, was elected the winner, while the Mpumalanga representative, Precious Khoza, and the Gauteng representative, Thando Tsiane, were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. [2] [3] Harty then represented the country at the Miss Grand International 2016 pageant held in Las Vegas, United States, on October 25, [6] but was unplaced. [7]

The grand final telecast of the pageant was hosted by Miss Teen Commonwealth South Africa 2016 1st-princess, Mpoentle Plaatjie, and was live-transmitted to the audience nationwide via Zee World. [2]

Originally, the pageant was scheduled to be held at the Lyric Theatre of the Gold Reef City amusement park in Johannesburg, [8] but after Zee World became the main sponsor of the pageant, the final venue was instead moved to Pretoria. [2]

Miss South Africa is a national beauty pageant in South Africa that selects South African representatives to compete in one of the Big Four international beauty pageants Miss Universe, and also selects another representative to participate in Sub-major international pageant Miss Supranational. The Miss South Africa organisation resorted to a contemporary format in selecting representatives which was inaugurated in 2018. Following their newer method, both a Miss World South Africa and a Miss Universe South Africa were selected as representatives. From 2021 onwards, the winner of Miss South Africa will be competing in Miss Universe, and Miss Supranational. The current Miss South Africa 2024 is Mia le Roux. On May 11, 2023, the Miss South Africa Organisation has lost its license as a Miss World licensee holder to Carol Bouwer Productions, which has taken over the license of Miss World South Africa pageant.

The R573 is a Regional Route in South Africa that connects Pretoria with Marble Hall via KwaMhlanga and Siyabuswa. As the road passes through Moloto, the entire route is known as the Moloto Road. It is maintained by the South African National Roads Agency.

Miss South Africa 2010 was held on 12 December 2010 in Sun City, South Africa. The winner will represent South Africa at Miss Universe 2011 and Miss World 2011. Miss South Africa 2019 was the 61st edition of the Miss South Africa pageant. It was held on 9 August 2019 at Sun Arena at Time Square in Pretoria, Gauteng. Tamaryn Green of Western Cape crowned her successor Zozibini Tunzi of Eastern Cape at the end of the event. Tunzi represented South Africa in Miss Universe 2019 and was crowned Miss Universe while 1st Runner-Up Sasha-Lee Olivier represented the country in Miss World 2019. Olivier assumed the title of Miss South Africa 2019 due to Tunzi winning the Miss Universe title.

The license was transferred to Zee World in 2016, and later to Maggy-Dee Productions, led by Miss Grand South Africa 2015 "Lenie Pieterse" who currently owns and runs the contest since 2017.

Miss Grand South Africa 2022 was the seventh edition of the Miss Grand South Africa beauty pageant, held on July 9, 2022, at the Boesies hall, Lake Umuzi Waterfront, Secunda. Thirty-eight candidates, who qualified for the national pageant via either an online screening performed or regional workshops performed earlier from February to April, competed for the title, and a 22-year-old fashion media student from Pretoria, Lu Juan Mzyk, was elected the winner, while the Johannesburg representative, Bianca Ramalho, and the Gauteng representative, Sphilangomusa Khwezi Msweli, were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. Lu Juan then represented the country at the Miss Grand International 2022 pageant held in Indonesia on October 25, but was unplaced.

Miss Grand South Africa 2023 was the eighth edition of the Miss Grand South Africa beauty pageant, held on July 22, 2023, at the Atterbury Theatre in South Africa's capital, Pretoria. Twenty-five candidates who qualified for the national pageant through the virtual casting competed for the title, and a 19-year-old former Miss Teen World from Johannesburg, Gugulethu Mayisela, was elected the winner. She was crowned by Miss Grand South Africa 2022, Lu Juan Mzyk, and obtain the right to represent the country at the Miss Grand International 2023 pageant, which is scheduled to be in Vietnam on October 25.

Miss Grand South Africa 2019 was the fourth edition of the Miss Grand South Africa beauty pageant, held on May 25, 2019, at the Atterbury Theatre, Pretoria. Nine candidates competed for the title, of whom a 23-year-old diploma in Public Relations from the Boston City Campus and Business College representing Gauteng province, Belinde Schreuder, was elected the winner. Meanwhile, the representatives of Johannesburg, Jeané Van Dam, and Limpopo province, Phomolo Bianca Tjie, were named the runners-up.

Malesela Francis Legodi is a South African retired judge of the High Court of South Africa. He was the first Judge President of the Mpumalanga Division of the High Court from August 2017 to August 2023. He joined the bench in October 2004 as a puisne judge of the Gauteng Division. Before that, he was a practising attorney in Mpumalanga.
