Miss Grand Madrid is a Spanish provincial female beauty pageant founded in 2016, [1] [2] aiming to select representatives from the Community of Madrid as well as the city Madrid for the Miss Grand Spain national competition. [3] [4] [5] [6]

Contents

Since first participating in the Miss Grand Spain pageant, Madrid's representatives have not won the main title yet. The highest placement they obtained was the second runner-up, won by Nicole Menayo and Andrea Ávila in 2018 and 2019, respectively. [7] [8]

History

Madrid debuted in the Miss Grand Spain pageant in 2016 after Helen Escoriza won the first Miss Grand Madrid competition held at MOSS Club in Centro Madrid, [9] and then participated in the Miss Grand Spain 2016 pageant. The Miss Grand Madrid contest was held annually as a separate stage, [10] [1] until Robert Nilen obtained Miss Grand Madrid and Miss Grand Toledo licenses in 2020, [2] when Madrid and Toledo candidates for Miss Grand Spain were determined through the merged contest, Miss Grand Madrid – Toledo. The Miss Grand Spain 2021 Alba Dunkenberck of Costa Canaria crowned her successor, a Cuban-Spanish Hirisley Jiménez of Las Palmas, at the end of the event. Jiménez then represented Spain at the Miss Grand International 2022 pageant held on October 25 in Indonesia, and was named the fifth runner-up.

Miss Grand Spain 2023 was the seventh edition of the Miss Grand Spain beauty pageant. The event was held on March 25, 2023, at Centro Comercial Martiánez Shopping Mall in the tourism coastline city of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Puerto de la Cruz, for the third year in a row, with the Canary Islands hosting the competition.

Miss Grand Spain 2024 was the eighth edition of the Miss Grand Spain pageant, held on May 11, 2024, at the Teatro Municipal Horacio Noguera, Isla Cristina, Huelva. Thirty-five candidates, who qualified for the national pageant through the provincial contests, competed for the title. Of whom, a 25-year-old programmer and Harvard University's labour law student representing the province of Las Palmas, Susana Medina, was elected the winner. Susana will represent the country at the international parent stage, Miss Grand International 2024.
