Wendy Marcelle Fitzwilliam is a Trinidadian lawyer, actress, model, singer, tv host and beauty queen who won Miss Trinidad and Tobago Universe 1998 and became the second Miss Universe in history from Trinidad and Tobago. Miss Universe 1998 is also the third woman of African heritage to win the beauty pageant.
The Gulf of Paria is a 7,800 km2 (3,000 sq mi) shallow semi-enclosed inland sea located between the island of Trinidad and the east coast of Venezuela. It separates the two countries by as little as 15 km at its narrowest and 120 km at its widest points. The tides within the Gulf are semi-diurnal in nature with a range of approximately 1m. Miss Grand Venezuela is a Venezuelan female beauty pageant that has been held for the first time in 2022 to select the country's representatives to compete in its parent stage Miss Grand International, in which Venezuela acquired the main title once in 2019, won by a 19-year-old model from Anzoátegui, Valentina Figuera. Another highlight achievement is the first runner-up, obtained in 2017 by Tulia Alemán of Falcón.

Miss Grand Venezuela 2022 was the first edition of the Miss Grand Venezuela beauty pageant, held at Teatro Municipal of Caracas in the Capital District on 13 August 2022. Twenty-two national delegates, chosen through various state pageants, participated in the contest, of which, Valentina Martínez of Anzoátegui was named the winner and was crowned by Vanessa Coello Miss Grand Venezuela 2021, she will later represent the country at Miss Grand International 2023, which was scheduled to be held in October 2023 in Vietnam.
Miss Grand Trinidad and Tobago is a national female beauty pageant in Trinidad and Tobago to select its representative to the international Miss Grand International pageant. The pageant was founded in 2023 by a Port of Spain-based event organizer, Stolen Productions Ltd., and is directed by Kehra Ramsubhag and Sean Paul, who also served as the national licensees of Mister Grand International in Trinidad and Tobago since 2021.
The fifth edition of the Miss Grand International pageant was held at the Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort and Villas Convention Hall, Phú Quốc, Vietnam on October 25, 2017, in which candidates from 77 countries and territories participated. These candidates were elected as the country representatives through different methods, such as through the Miss Grand National which was held to select the country representative for Miss Grand International specifically, or appointed by another national pageant organizer, in which the main winner was sent to compete on other international stages. Some of them were assigned as the representatives without competing at any national pageant in this particular year.
Mister Grand International also known as Mister Grand is an international male beauty pageant that was established in 2017 by Mark Gil Balisacan. The organization's first edition was held at Crossroad Center in Quezon City, Philippines on 7 October 2017. It is the largest international male beauty pageant founded in 2017 and is the counterpart to the unaffiliated female beauty pageant, Miss Grand International.
