Miss Grand South Africa 2019 was the fourth edition of the Miss Grand South Africa beauty pageant, held on May 25, 2019, at the Atterbury Theatre, Pretoria. [1] [2] [3] Nine candidates competed for the title, of whom a 23-year-old diploma in Public Relations from the Boston City Campus and Business College representing Gauteng province, Belinde Schreuder, was elected the winner. [1] [3] [4] Meanwhile, the representatives of Johannesburg, Jeané Van Dam, and Limpopo province, Phomolo Bianca Tjie, were named the runners-up. [3]

Schreuder later represented South Africa at the international parent contest, Miss Grand International 2019, held in Caracas, Venezuela, on October 25 of that year, [4] [5] and was placed among the top 20 finalists, making her the first South African representative to obtain placement in Miss Grand International. [4]

Egoli: Place of Gold was a bilingual South African soap opera which first aired on M-Net on 6 April 1992. South African television's first daily soap opera, on 3 December 1999 Egoli became the first South African television programme in any genre to reach 2,000 episodes. The Miss South Africa is a national beauty pageant in South Africa that selects South African representatives to compete in one of the Big Four international beauty pageants Miss Universe, and also selects another representative to participate in Sub-major international pageant Miss Supranational. The Miss South Africa organisation resorted to a contemporary format in selecting representatives which was inaugurated in 2018. Following their newer method, both a Miss World South Africa and a Miss Universe South Africa were selected as representatives. From 2021 onwards, the winner of Miss South Africa will be competing in Miss Universe, and Miss Supranational. The current Miss South Africa 2023 is Natasha Joubert. Miss Grand South Africa 2016 was the second edition of the Miss Grand South Africa beauty pageant, held on August 6, 2016, at the Atterbury Theatre, Pretoria. Seven candidates, who qualified for the national pageant via an online screening performed earlier in April, competed for the title, and a professional model from the province of Limpopo, Caitlin Harty, was elected the winner, while the Mpumalanga representative, Precious Khoza, and the Gauteng representative, Thando Tsiane, were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. Harty then represented the country at the Miss Grand International 2016 pageant held in Las Vegas, United States, on October 25, but was unplaced.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Miss Grand South Africa 2022</span> 7th Miss Grand South Africa competition, beauty pageant edition

Miss Grand South Africa 2022 was the seventh edition of the Miss Grand South Africa beauty pageant, held on July 9, 2022, at the Boesies hall, Lake Umuzi Waterfront, Secunda. Thirty-eight candidates, who qualified for the national pageant via either an online screening performed or regional workshops performed earlier from February to April, competed for the title, and a 22-year-old fashion media student from Pretoria, Lu Juan Mzyk, was elected the winner, while the Johannesburg representative, Bianca Ramalho, and the Gauteng representative, Sphilangomusa Khwezi Msweli, were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. Lu Juan then represented the country at the Miss Grand International 2022 pageant held in Indonesia on October 25, but was unplaced.
