Miss Grand Malaysia 2017 was the second edition of the Miss Grand Malaysia pageant, held on August 4, 2017, [1] [2] [3] in the Grand Pacific Ballroom, Evolve Concept Mall, Petaling Jaya, Selangor. [2] [4] [5] Sixteen candidates, who qualified for the national stage through the state pageant or national audition, competed for the title. [2] [5]
At the end of the event, a 25-year-old biomedical science student representing Sabah, Sanjeda John, was announced the winner. [4] [3] Sanjeda later represented Malaysia in the international parent stage, Miss Grand International 2017, held in October that year in Vietnam, but she was unplaced. [6] Meanwhile, the representative of Kuala Lumpur, Sanjna Suri, won the supplemental title of Miss Intercontinental Malaysia 2017, [4] [3] and was placed among the top 18 finalists after competing internationally in Egypt. [7]
The event was hosted by celebrities Nigel Chin and Brynn Lovett, [5] and was also attended by Miss Grand International's president Nawat Itsaragrisil as well as Miss Grand International 2016 Ariska Putri Pertiwi of Indonesia. [5]
The national finalists for the Miss Grand Malaysia 2017 pageant were determined through three selection systems: the 3 automatic spots were given to the respective state pageant winners (Sabah, Sarawak, and Kuala Lumpur) while the remaining 13 were pre-determined from either the state pageant finalists or the nationwide audition roadshow in Penang, Perak, Melaka, and Johor. Out of sixteen states and federal territories of Malaysia, only three held the regional preliminary pageants for Miss Grand Malaysia 2017, [2] including, Kuala Lumpur, Sabah, and Sarawak. The Miss Universe Malaysia is an annual national beauty pageant and an organization that selects Malaysia's representative to the annual Miss Universe contest. On occasion, when the winner does not qualify, a runner-up is sent.
Dewi Liana Seriestha is a Malaysian singer, model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Malaysia World 2014. She represents her country at Miss World 2014 at London, England where she placed as one of the Top 25 quarter-finalist and also became the first Malaysian to win the Miss World Talent award.
Miss Universe Malaysia 2017, the 51st edition of the Miss Universe Malaysia, was held on 23 February 2017 at the Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Samantha James of Kuala Lumpur of was crowned by the outgoing titleholder, Kiran Jassal of Selangor at the end of the event. She then represented Malaysia at the Miss Universe 2017 pageant in Las Vegas, United States.
Miss Malaysia World 2015, the 49th edition of Miss World Malaysia was held at the Corus Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on August 29, 2015. Dewi Liana Seriestha of Sarawak crowned her successor, Brynn Zalina Lovett from Sabah at the end of the event. The main sponsors for the event was Metrojaya and Corus Hotel while the exclusive sponsor was Wacoal Malaysia.
Miss Malaysia World 2013, the 47th edition of Miss World Malaysia was held at the Corus Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on August 1, 2014. Yvonne Lee of Selangor crowned her successor, Melinder Bhullar from Kuala Lumpur at the end of the event.
Miss Universe Malaysia 2018, the 52nd edition of the Miss Universe Malaysia, was held on 11 January 2018 at the Majestic Araneta Auditorium, Kuala Lumpur. Jane Teoh of Penang was crowned by the outgoing titleholder, Samantha James of Kuala Lumpur at the end of the event. She then represented Malaysia at the Miss Universe 2018 pageant in Bangkok, Thailand.
Miss Malaysia Universe 1978, the 12th edition of the Miss Universe Malaysia, was held on 18 May 1978 at the Merlin Hotel, Penang. Yasmin Yusoff of Kuala Lumpur was crowned by the outgoing titleholder, Leong Li Ping of Penang at the end of the event. She then represented Malaysia at the Miss Universe 1978 pageant in Mexico City, Mexico.
Miss Malaysia Universe 1979, the 13th edition of the Miss Universe Malaysia, was held on 28 April 1979 at the Merlin Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Irene Wong of Pahang was crowned by the outgoing titleholder, Yasmin Yusoff of Kuala Lumpur at the end of the event. She then represented Malaysia at the Miss Universe 1979 pageant in Perth, Australia.
Sanjna Suri is a Malaysian pharmacist, beauty pageant titleholder, singer, model, and actress. She shot to fame after winning Miss Intercontinental Malaysia in 2017. She then represented Malaysia at Miss Scuba International 2015, Face of Asia 2017 International Model, Miss Intercontinental 2017, and Miss Supranational 2018.
Miss Universe Malaysia 2020, the 54th edition of the Miss Universe Malaysia, was held on 5 September 2020 at Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Francisca Luhong James of Sarawak was crowned by the outgoing titleholder, Shweta Sekhon of Kuala Lumpur at the end of the event. She represents Malaysia at Miss Universe 2020 pageant held in Hollywood, Florida, United States.

Miss Grand Malaysia is an annual female beauty pageant in Malaysia, founded by a Penang-based businessperson Anson Chong in 2013, aiming to select the country representative for Miss Grand International, which is an annual international beauty pageant promoting World Peace and against all kinds of conflicts. During 2015 to 2021, the contest was run by Introducing Talent Sdn Bhd, under the leadership of Jude Benjamin Lisa. Since 2022, the franchise has belonged to the Singapore-based start-up HyperLive Entertainment.

Miss Grand Malaysia 2021 was the sixth edition of the Miss Grand Malaysia pageant, held virtually via Facebook Live on August 2, 2021. Twenty-three candidates, who qualified for the national pageant either through state pageants or national auditions, competed for the title, and a 24-year-old architecture student from Selangor, Lishallinny Kanaran, was named the winner, while Malveen Kaur of Johor Bahru and Poorani Rajoo of Kuala Lumpur won the supplementary titles of The Miss Globe Malaysia 2021 and Miss Intercontinental Malaysia 2021, respectively. Lishallinny later represented Malaysia in its parent international pageant, Miss Grand International 2021, in Thailand, where she was placed among the top 10 finalists and also won the Best National Costume award.
Miss Grand Malaysia 2023 was the eighth edition of the Miss Grand Malaysia pageant, held on August 14, 2023, in the Zodiac Theatre on the 7th floor of the Genting Dream Cruise. Eleven candidates competed for the title, of whom a 21-year-old actress and model from Selangor, Kash Bhullar, was announced the winner and won the prize of RM15,000 in cash and jewelry worth RM 25,000. Kash later represented the country at the Miss Grand International 2023 pageant, held in Vietnam on October 25 of that year, but she was unplaced.

Miss Grand Malaysia 2019 was the fourth edition of the Miss Grand Malaysia pageant, held on April 28, 2019, at the Meritz Hotel, Miri, Sarawak. Twenty-three candidates, who qualified for the national stage through the state pageant or national audition, competed for the title.
Miss Grand Malaysia 2020 was the fifth edition of the Miss Grand Malaysia pageant, held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Eighteen candidates participated experienced several interview processes and public votes to determine the final winner, of whom a 25-year-old, of mixed Indian and Chinese ancestry, from Kuala Lumpur, Jasebel Robert, has been named Miss Grand Malaysia 2020 in the final round on January 28, 2021.
