Miss Grand Belgium is an annual Belgian female beauty pageant based in Lint, Belgium. [1] [2] [3] It was founded in 2021 by the event organizer, CC Productions, which is managed by Nepali businessperson Carolyn Collinda. Previously, Belgium representatives at the Miss Grand International pageant were appointed by different licensees, but none of them placed at the aforementioned international pageant.

History

Belgium is one of the countries that has participated in the Miss Grand International contest since its inception in 2013. Nevertheless, most of its representatives have been chosen without organizing a national contest. However, after Carolyn Collinda, the Netherlands-born businessperson, obtained the license in 2021, she subsequently organized the first Miss Grand Belgium contest on September 18, 2021, at AED Studios in the city of Lint. [1] [2] The contest featured eight national finalists, and Tenzin Zomkey, who was born in India's Tibetan refugee camp and is currently residing in Flemish Brabant, was crowned Miss Grand Belgium 2021. [2] [3] [6]

In 2022, the original winner, Alyssa Gilliaert, resigned from the title due to health problems, which caused the organizer to appoint one of the national finalists, Chiara Vanderveeren, to compete at the Miss Grand International 2022 in Indonesia instead. [7]

Miss Grand Nepal is an annual female beauty pageant in Nepal, founded in 2016 by a Kathmandu-based businessperson Sazum Katwal of Looks Entertainment, aiming to select the country representative to compete at its parent international pageant Miss Grand International. The license of the contest was later transferred to RK Entertainment Group and Izodom Nepal & Cosmo Group in 2017 and 2019, respectively. However, even lost the contest license in 2019, the RK group has held the Miss Grand national contest annually to select the delegates for other international contests since then. Currently, the contest licensed by the Thai-parent platform was managed by Suresh Tamang.

Miss Grand Nepal 2022 was the sixth edition of Miss Grand Nepal beauty pageant, co-organized by Izodom Nepal, Cosmo Group, and Bolly Club Group, held on 10 September 2022 at Hotel Shanker in Kathmandu. Fourteen national candidates, directly chosen by the central organizer through an online application and the audition round, competed for the title, of whom, Aishworya Shrestha from Bagmati Province was named the winner and then represented the country at Miss Grand International 2022 held on October 25, in Indonesia, but she got a non-placement.

Miss Grand Namibia was a Namibian female beauty pageant founded in 2015 by Magnolia Kuhanga, the chairperson of the Windhoek-based organizer, Magnolia Events Management. The pageant was declared defunct in late 2018 after the incorporation between the aforementioned national organizer and Miss Grand International Limited was not extended and no other domestic organizer was interested in the license. Originally, the winners of the contest, which was held three times—in 2015, 2016, and 2018—were expected to represent Namibia on its international parent platform, Miss Grand International. However, all three winners withdrew from the international pageant for unspecified reasons; only one of them was replaced by an appointed representative.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Miss Grand Nigeria</span> National beauty pageant in Nigeria

Miss Grand Nigeria was a Nigerian female beauty pageant founded in 2015 by a Lagos-based event organizer chaired by Loveth Ajufoh, QLA Nigeria. The winners of the contest, which was held individually twice, represented Nigeria at its parent competition, Miss Grand International. Previously, the contest's license belonged to AMC Productions, the organizer of the Miss Earth Nigeria pageant, before being transferred to QLA Nigeria Limited, 001 Entertainment – the organizer of The Nigerian Queen, and the Qhue Group. in 2015, 2020, and 2023, respectively.

Miss Grand United Kingdom is a female beauty pageant in the United Kingdom, founded in 2015 by a Lancashire-based pageant organizer, Pageant Girls UK, chaired by Holly Louise, who was also the UK license holder for various other international pageants such as Miss Earth, Miss International and Miss Intercontinental. The winners of the contest, which usually comprises three or four titles, including Miss Grand England, Miss Grand Wales, Miss Grand Scotland, and Miss Grand Northern Ireland, represent their countries in the international parent contest, Miss Grand International. However, as the former licensee was unable to send the elected delegates to compete in the 2019 international contest in Venezuela, the competition license was transferred to Megan Darlington in 2020, and subsequently to Kathryn Fanshawe in mid-2022.

Miss Grand Belgium 2021 was the inaugural edition of the Miss Grand Belgium pageant, held at the AED Studios in Lint, Belgium, on September 28, 2021. Eight candidates who qualified through the casting process competed for the title, of whom a 19 years-old India-born Tibetan decedent, Zomkey Tenzin, won the main title and then represented Belgium at the Miss Grand International 2021 pageant in Thailand, but she was unplaced.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Miss Grand Singapore</span> Beauty pageant title of Singapore

Miss Grand Singapore is a national title bestowed upon a woman chosen to represent Singapore at Miss Grand International, an annual international beauty pageant promoting peace and opposing all forms of conflict. It was first introduced in 2013, when the first runner-up Miss Singapore World 2013, Elizabeth Houghton, was appointed to join the Miss Grand International 2013 contest in Thailand. After that, the license was transferred to different organizers, until an organizer led by Adeline Hokulani, AO Venture Pte Ltd, obtained the franchise in 2023.

The 10th-anniversary edition of the Miss Grand International pageant was held at the Sentul International Convention Center in West Java, Indonesia on October 25, 2022, in which candidates from 68 countries and territories participated. These candidates were elected as the country representatives through different methods, such as through the Miss Grand National which was held to select the country representative for Miss Grand International specifically, or appointed by another national pageant organizer, in which the main winner was sent to compete on other international stages. Some of them were assigned as the representatives without competing at any national pageant in this particular year.
