Miss Grand Nepal 2022 was the sixth edition of Miss Grand Nepal beauty pageant, co-organized by Izodom Nepal, Cosmo Group, and Bolly Club Group, [1] [2] [3] held on 10 September 2022 at Hotel Shanker in Kathmandu. [2] [4] [5] Fourteen national candidates, directly chosen by the central organizer through an online application and the audition round, competed for the title, [4] [6] [7] of whom, Aishworya Shrestha from Bagmati Province was named the winner and then represented the country at Miss Grand International 2022 held on October 25, in Indonesia, [8] [9] [10] but she got a non-placement. [11]

In addition to the event organized by the Izodom Nepal group, another pageant with the same title, held in August 2022 by a former Miss Grand Nepal licensee, RK Entertainment Group, has been observed. [12] [13] However, the mentioned organizer has not been affiliated with the Miss Grand International pageant since 2019 due to license termination, and the winner and runners-up of that pageant are usually participating in other different international contests such as Miss Tourism International, Miss Scuba International, Miss Landscape International, and Miss Multinational. Background

Since acquiring the Miss Grand Nepal franchise in 2019, the Izodom Nepal & Cosmo Group only held the contest once in 2020, [2] [5] [15] due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the country's representative on the international stage Miss Grand International was instead appointed in 2021. [16] [17] However, after the outbreak has been effectively controlled, the organizer then decided to arrange the national contest in 2022 to elect the representative for the international pageant in Indonesia. [1] [4] [6] [7] The press conference of such was held on 25 August in Kathmandu, and the final venue and the competition detail were also revealed in the event. [4] [6] The contestant application was open from 3 July – 10 August with the audition round on 27 August and the final coronation round on 10 September 2022 at Hotel Shanker, also in the capital Kathmandu. Pageant

In the grand final competition held on September 10, the results of all preliminary activities as well as the individual interview determined the 10 semifinalists. The top 10 delivered a speech related to the pageant campaign, Stop wars and violence, and were narrowed down to the top 5, who then competed in the question/answer portion, After which Miss Grand Nepal 2022, and her three runners-up, were announced. The Mr. Nepal competition is a male beauty pageant organized by Expose Nepal. It was founded in 2002. The entrants compete in various activities including swimming, Extreme challenge and physique, Talent performances, mountain climbing, and marathon running. The current Mr. Nepal is Nutan Shrestha of Morang District who was crowned on April 17, 2022 in Kathmandu, Nepal. Traditionally, Mr Nepal lives in Kathmandu during his reign. Nikita Chandak is a Nepali model, actress, and beauty pageant titleholder. She won the title of Miss Nepal 2017. She also won the Miss Popular Choice and Miss Confident titles, respectively. She represented Nepal at Miss World 2017, held in Sanya City Arena, Sanya, China. Chandak ventured into acting by playing the lead role in the 2020 film, Sanglo.

During the coronation night, four major winners was crowned as Miss Universe Nepal 2019, Miss World Nepal 2019, Miss Earth Nepal 2019 and Miss International Nepal 2019. Miss Supranational Nepal was also added as a new title in this year's edition making Top 5 winners.

Miss Grand Nepal is an annual female beauty pageant in Nepal, founded in 2016 by a Kathmandu-based businessperson Sazum Katwal of Looks Entertainment, aiming to select the country representative to compete at its parent international pageant Miss Grand International. The license of the contest was later transferred to RK Entertainment Group and Izodom Nepal & Cosmo Group in 2017 and 2019, respectively. However, even lost the contest license in 2019, the RK group has held the Miss Grand national contest annually to select the delegates for other international contests since then. Currently, the contest licensed by the Thai-parent platform was managed by Suresh Tamang.

Miss Grand Nepal 2016 was the first edition of the Miss Grand Nepal beauty pageant, held on August 23, 2016, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Kathmandu, organized by Mero Looks and Revolution Pvt. Ltd. Ten national aspirants competed for the title, of whom a 24-year-old Mass communication student from Kathmandu, Zeenus Lama, was named the winner, and received रु50,000 Rupee cash as the prize while the first and second runners-up, Pooja Shrestha of Lalitpur and Jyotsana Maharjan of Bharatpur, obtained रु25,000 and रु10,000 Rupee, respectively. The event was attended by Claire Parker, Miss Grand International 2015, and the Ambassador of Thailand to Nepal, Vutti Vuttisant.

Miss Grand Nepal 2020 was the third edition of the Miss Grand Nepal beauty pageant, held on August 13, 2020, at the Mojo Boutique Hotel in Baneshwor, Kathmandu. Ten contestants competed for the title, of whom a 21-year-old medical student from Kathmandu, Ambika Joshi Rana, was named the winner and crowned by Miss Grand Nepal 2019, Nisha Pathak. She then represented Nepal on the parent stage, Miss Grand International 2020, held in Thailand on March 27, 2021, but she went unplaced.

Miss Grand Belgium 2021 was the inaugural edition of the Miss Grand Belgium pageant, held at the AED Studios in Lint, Belgium, on September 28, 2021. Eight candidates who qualified through the casting process competed for the title, of whom a 19 years-old India-born Tibetan decedent, Zomkey Tenzin, won the main title and then represented Belgium at the Miss Grand International 2021 pageant in Thailand, but she was unplaced.

The Hidden Treasures Dabur Vatika Shampoo Miss Nepal 2023, will be the 27th Miss Nepal pageant to be held on 27 May 2023 at the Godavari Sunrise Convention Center, at Godawari, Lalitpur. Miss Nepal World 2022 Priyanka Rani Joshi will crown her successor as Miss Nepal World 2023, Miss Nepal Earth 2022 Sareesha Shrestha will crown Miss Nepal Earth 2023 and Nancy Khadka will crown Miss Nepal International 2023respectively. The grand coronation event will be shown live Exclusively on Kantipur Television HD, Kantipur Cineplex HD and Official YouTube Channel.

Srichchha Pradhan is a Nepalese beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Nepal on May 27, 2023. She will represent Nepal in the Miss World competition.

The 10th-anniversary edition of the Miss Grand International pageant was held at the Sentul International Convention Center in West Java, Indonesia on October 25, 2022, in which candidates from 68 countries and territories participated. These candidates were elected as the country representatives through different methods, such as through the Miss Grand National which was held to select the country representative for Miss Grand International specifically, or appointed by another national pageant organizer, in which the main winner was sent to compete on other international stages. Some of them were assigned as the representatives without competing at any national pageant in this particular year.
