History

Oak Park Beach was established in 1827, however the Sutherland Shire Council officially established it as Oaks Reserve in 1909, the reason is because of the stream located at the beach. A well was sunk there in 1907 to serve the influx of summer visitors and residents and a natural pool existed at what is now the eastern corner of the Oak Park Pool. [1]
