• April 12 – The National Hockey League announces that the upcoming Winnipeg Jets game against the Seattle Kraken, originally scheduled for April 13, has been postponed to May 1 as a winter storm sweeps through the southern area of Manitoba. ^[12]

• May 6 – After a 23-game winning streak, Mattea Roach, a tutor from Toronto, loses on Jeopardy! to Danielle Maurer. • May 12 – An official death toll from COVID-19 in Canada exceeds 40,000 people since the start of the pandemic.
• May 14 – The Toronto Maple Leafs lose game 7, 2-1, to the Tampa Bay Lightning, extending the Stanley Cup championship drought to 55 years. The drought surpasses the New York Rangers 54-year drought. ^[16]
