Graduate School of International Development (GSID) is a faculty of Nagoya University, established in 1991. They have a mission of encouraging intellectuals to address global issues through innovative thinking rooted in a sustainable social science perspective through the following three objectives: [1]

Contents

  1. Promote empirical research based on social science theories and methods that can inform the policy-making and implementation processes of the international community, governments, and civil society.
  2. Train professionals who can contribute to state or community-building cooperation with the international community and have a complete understanding of national and local realities.
  3. Expand the worldwide network with governments, universities, and international organizations through research and teaching to realize sustainable development and just societies on a global level. [2]

GSID offers master's and doctoral degrees through its Department of International Development and Cooperation.
