Alice Moxom (born 28 November 1989) in London, England, known professionally as Moxie, is a London based DJ, music publisher and event promoter.

Career

Learning to DJ from a young age, [1] her career as a radio DJ started in 2010 on Kiss FM and she has subsequently held residencies at BBC Radio 1 as well as at NTS Radio. Her NTS residency is one of the longest running of the station and is currently a weekly slot. [2] In 2016 she founded the On Loop record label and events company, with the aim of promoting women in the electronic music industry, [1] which was considered one of Mixmag’s Top 20 labels of 2017 and was nominated at the DJ Mag awards for Best Compilation. [2]

In 2017, Time Out rated her NTS radio show as one of London's top ten [3] and Mixmag identified her as part of a growing trend favoring DJs as music "selectors" rather than traditional producers. [4] In 2018, one of her DJ mixes was included in Pitchfork's monthly top eight [5] and The List considered that she was "rapidly becoming one of the most prominent DJs in the UK, and beyond". [6]

In 2019 she was nominated for DJ Mag's Best Of British awards 2019 in the Best Resident DJ category [7] and performed at Glastonbury Festival. The Guardian claimed that she had "helped define a joyous, breakbeat-friendly corner of the house and techno underground. [8] Resident Advisor list her as one of the top 1000 electronic music artists globally. [9]

Nyege Nyege is a collective in Kampala, Uganda that promotes outsider music, primarily electronic, by African artists. It was founded in 2013 by expats Arlen Dilsizian and Derek Debru. In addition to organizing ongoing parties and an artist residency, the collective runs two record labels and a multi-day annual festival. Its name refers to a Luganda word describing "a sudden, uncontrollable urge to dance."

Esteban Adame is an East Los Angeles DJ who emerged from the Chicano/Latino rave or party scene in the 1990s. He started DJing at the age of 15. In 2004, he was asked by "Mad" Mike Banks of Underground Resistance to join the music collective in Detroit, Michigan. Banks reportedly was interested when he "found out Chicanos from Southern California were interested in UR records, sensing a common ground between Los Angeles's Latino enclaves and the Black neighborhoods of Detroit." Adame would go on to play piano for the label's electronic jazz band Galaxy 2 Galaxy.

Roza Terenzi is the alias of Katie Campbell, an Australian DJ and music producer. Originally from Perth, she moved to Melbourne in 2017 and released her debut album as Roza Terenzi in January 2020.

Sherelle Camille Thomas, known mononymously as Sherelle, is a British DJ and electronic musician. With a background in dancehall and rave music, Sherelle is best known for her DJ sets and mixes. Sherelle is also known for co-founding the label Hoversound with Naina and for founding Beautiful, a label and musical project for black and LGBT musicians.

Emma Kirby, known as Elkka, is a British producer, vocalist, and DJ. With a background of songwriter and vocalist for Elkka is best known for winning the Essential Mix of the Year (BBC1) in 2021. She is also known as the co-founder of femme culture, which she founded with her partner Alex Lambert, an inclusive queer platform. The label organizes the annual HeForShe compilation, and all profits go to the charity U.N. Women.
