It is under the administration of Alxa League and is the westernmost county-level division of Inner Mongolia, bordering Gansu province to the west and Mongolia's Bayankhongor and Govi-Altai Provinces. Its seat is located at Dalaihob Town. To the west, it shares a border with Subei Mongol Autonomous County of Jiuquan, Gansu.

Linhe–Ceke railway or Lince railway is a railway in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of northwestern China between Linhe District in Bayan Nur, and Ceke, a border post in Ejin Banner on the China–Mongolia border. The railway is 707 km (439 mi) in total length, and runs entirely in desert regions. The line was built with investments of ¥4.27 billion. It opened to freight operations in December 2009 and passenger service in November 2010, but has been plagued by sandstorms and shifting dunes, which have buried tracks and disrupted service.

It replaced the old Bajialing Airport, which was shut down in 1995. Construction of the airport started on 7 January 2012 with a total investment of 656 million yuan, and the airport was opened on 23 December 2014, with an inaugural flight from Beijing Nanyuan Airport.

Ejin–Hami railway or Eha railway, is a railway in western China between Ejin Banner in Alxa League of western Inner Mongolia and the city of Hami in the eastern part of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. The line runs 644 km (400 mi) through the deserts near the Mongolian border. Apart from Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang, the line also crosses the Subei Mongol Autonomous County, the sliver of Gansu Province that extends to the Mongolian border. Construction began on June 30, 2014 and was slated to take three years, but the line opened only 17 months later on December 1, 2015. The opening of this rail line shortened the distance by rail from Hohhot, Inner Mongolia's capital, to destinations in Xinjiang and Kazakhstan by over 800 km.

Xinbarag Youqi Baogede Airport is a general aviation airport serving New Barag Right Banner in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia, China. It is located northeast of the Baogede Wula Mountains, after which it is named. It is 13.5 kilometres (8.4 mi) from Alatan'emole Town, the seat of the banner, and 83 kilometres (52 mi) from the tri-border area of China, Mongolia, and Russia.
