International Forum Design was launched in 2001 as the operative business arm of design promotion company iF Industrie Forum Design Hannover e.V. (founded in 1953). [3] International Forum Design and Industrie Forum Design are known internationally for awarding the annual iF product design awards. [4]
Industrie Forum Design Hannover was established in 1953 [5] as "Die gute Industrieform" ("Good Industrial Form") by Deutsche Messe AG (then known as Deutsche Messe- und Ausstellungs- AG); the Working Party on Industrial Design within the Federation of German Industries (BDI); and other design corporations. It is located in the Hanover exhibition center and was founded to promote industrial goods by organizing and promoting exhibitions. [6] The company held its first exhibition in 1953, and has awarded the iF design awards annually since 1954. In 2001, managing director Ralph Wiegmann launched International Forum Design to oversee iF's business operations. [7]

The station has six platforms with twelve platform tracks, and two through tracks without platforms. Every day it is used by 250,000 passengers and 622 trains stop at the platforms. He is known for designing trains and trams such as the S-DT8.12 Stuttgart light rail cars, and the TW 6000 and TW 2000 for the city of Hanover, Germany, as well as the associated urban furniture and infrastructure. The logo of the University of Hannover, which evokes Leibniz's exploration of the binary number system, was also designed by Lindinger.
Hans Erich Slany was a German designer considered by many to have been the first industrial designer to design plastic housings for power tools. Slany is also thought of as one of the icons of design in Germany. He founded TEAMS Design GmbH, was a Professor of Industrial Design (ID) for more than 20 years and helped found the Verband Deutscher Industrie Designer e. V. in 1959. He then helped the VDID with their entry into the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID).

Hannover-Nordstadt is a railway station located in Hannover, Germany. The station is located on the Hanover–Minden railway, Bremen–Hanover railway and the Heath Railway. The train services are operated by Deutsche Bahn as part of the Hanover S-Bahn. It was designed in 1996 for the Expo line by Studio Hansjörg Göritz as the winning scheme in a design competition for the entire system of which this one remained as the network's single implementation, connecting the airport to the World Expo 2000 fairgrounds. Its design was showcased in the exhibition La Rinascimento della Stazione [The Rebirth of Train Stations] at the 1996 Venice Architecture Biennale.
