Coelodiscus Extinct genus of gastropods

Ceolodiscus is an extinct genus of gastropod from the Lower and Middle Jurassic of Europe, mostly on Germany, France and United Kingdom. Other posible records include specimens from Hungary of Earliest Jurassic (Hettangian) age. As well there are specimens from Switzerland of Middle Jurassic age. It is the only genus in the monotypic family Coelodiscidae. The genus is usually allied with modern Pterotracheoidea, based mostly on its resemblance with modern Atlanta larvae, yet it differs by lacking extant family affiliations. This genus is linked with the Toarcian Oceanic Anoxic Event, that likely triggered its evolution.

Trochaclididae, common name the false top snails, is a family of sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the clade Vetigastropoda.

Paleobiota of the Solnhofen Limestone Fossil-bearing formation in Germany

The Solnhofen Limestone or Solnhofen Plattenkalk is a collective term for multiple Late Jurassic lithographic limestones in southeastern Germany, which is famous for its well preserved fossil flora and fauna dating to the late Jurassic (Kimmeridgian-Tithonian). The paleoenvironment is also often referred to as the Solnhofen Archipelago. The Solnhofen Archipelago was located at the northern edge of the Tethys Ocean as part of a shallow epicontinental sea and is firmly a part of the Mediterranean realm.

Protocardia is an extinct genus of saltwater clams, marine bivalve mollusks in the subfamily Protocardiinae of the family Cardiidae, the cockles.

Meyerosuchus is an extinct genus of mastodonsauroidean temnospondyl. Fossils have been found from the Early Triassic Hardegsen Formation in southern Germany. Meyerosuchus is present in late Olenekian deposits of the Middle Buntsandstein. The type species M. fuerstenberganus was named in 1966, although remains have been known since 1855. Meyerosuchus is closely related to Stenotosaurus; both genera are grouped in the family Stenotosauridae and the two genera may even be synonymous.

The La Caja Formation is a geologic formation in Mexico. It preserves fossils dating from the Kimmeridgian to the lower Berriasian. La Caja Formation is widespread in northeastern and central Mexico and known for their abundant and diverse well-preserved ammonites. It was deposited in hemipelagic conditions, and predominantly consists of siliclastic sediments, including marl, with limestone. It is laterally equivalent to the La Casita Formation, which represent more proximal facies. The ichthyosaurs Ophthalmosaurus icenicus and Parrassaurus yacahuitztli, metriorhynchid Cricosaurus saltillensis, and the giant pliosaur "Monster of Aramberri" are known from the formation.
