Narendra Prasad is an Indian surgeon, [1] [2] who was the former head of the Department of Surgery, Patna Medical College and Hospital and a former president of the Association of Surgeons of India (Bihar chapter). [3] The Government of India conferred Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian award, upon him in 2015, for his contributions to the field of medicine. [4] Prasad had graduated in medicine from Patna Medical College and passed FRCS in 1962. [3]

Vijay Kumar Dada is an Indian ophthalmologist and a consultant at the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. An alumnus and a former chief of the Dr. R. P. Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, he has written several articles on eye diseases such as cataract and glaucoma. Dada, an elected fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, was honored by the Government of India, in 2002, with the fourth highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri.

Vijay Prakash Singh is an Indian gastroenterologist and the Head of Department of Gastroenterology at Patna Medical College, Bihar. He was born in Banka. He is reported to have contributed to the establishment of the department of gastroenterology at the medical college and at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS). He is also involved with BIG Hospital Institute of Gastroenterology as the chief gastroenterologist and medical director. He is a member of the executive council of the Medical Council of India and a member of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology. He is the author of several medical research papers, published in peer reviewed journals. He was honoured by the Government of India in 2003 with Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian award, and only the 7th doctor in Bihar state to receive the award.

Gopal Prasad Sinha is an Indian neurologist, politician and a member of the Institutional Ethical Committee of the Indian Council of Medical Research. He was born and brought up in Patna, in the Indian state of Bihar and is an alumnus of Patna University. He unsuccessfully contested in 2014 Indian Parliament elections from the Patna Sahib constituency under the Janata Dal (United) candidacy, against the incumbent Member of Parliament, Shatrughan Sinha.

Harsh Kumar Indian ophthalmologist

Harsh Kumar is an Indian ophthalmologist, who is reported to have described nine laser surgical procedures for glaucoma and anterior segment of which one procedure is cited by Shields Text Book of Glaucoma, a known reference book on glaucoma management. He is the director of Glaucoma Services at Centre for Sight, New Delhi and also serves at the Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, Delhi. He was honoured by the Government of India in 2015 with Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian award.

Lala Suraj Nandan Prasad (1914–2009) was an Indian pediatrician and a former professor of pediatrics of the Patna Medical College and Hospital whose efforts were reported behind the establishment of the department of pediatrics and the development of the children's ward into a 250 bedded Children's Hospital at the institution. He was the founder president of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics when the organization was formed in 1964 though the merger of erstwhile Indian Pediatric Society and the Association of Pediatricians of India. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri in 1974.

Shishupal Ram was an Indian pediatrician. Born in the Indian state of Bihar, he was a graduate of the Patna Medical College. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest Indian civilian honour of Padma Shri in 1983. He died on 29 October 2011 at the age of 84.

Jagdev Singh Guleria is an Indian general physician, cardiologist and a former Dean and Professor of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He is the senior consultant of General Medicine at Sitaram Bhartia Institute of Science and Research and an Emeritus Professor of the National Academy of Medical Sciences. He received the fourth highest Indian civilian honour of the Padma Shri in 2003.

Shyam Narayan Arya is an Indian physician, writer and the former National Professor and dean of the College of General practitioners of the Indian Medical Association (IMA_GP). He has published several medical papers and monographs, has contributed chapters to books published by others and has delivered keynote addresses in many medical conferences. He is an alumnus of the Patna Medical College and Hospital of the Patna University and a Fellow of the Indian Association of Clinical Medicine (IACM), where he has served as its National President. Malvika Sabharwal is an Indian gynecologist and obstetrician at the Nova Specialty Hospitals of the Apollo Healthcare Group and at Jeewan Mala Hospital, New Delhi. The team led by her has been credited with the successful performance of the removal of the largest recorded fibroid through laparoscopic surgery. She leads the Gynae Endoscopy, a team of 140 doctors, involved in endoscopic surgical practices related to gynecology.

Yash Gulati is an Indian orthopedic surgeon and the senior consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi. He specializes in joint replacement and spine surgeries and is a visiting consultant at RAK Hospital, Ras al-Khaimah. He is the youngest orthopedic surgeon to win the civilian honour of the Padma Shri.

Dukhan Ram (1899–1990) was an Indian ophthalmologist, academic, legislator and the vice chancellor of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University. He was the principal of Patna Medical College, one of the oldest medical colleges in India, and the president of Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha, a satellite organization of Arya Samaj, founded by Dayanand Saraswati. He successfully contested the 1962 Bihar Legislative Assembly election from Sasaram constituency, on Indian National Congress candidature and served as the president of All India Ophthalmological Society in 1961. The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan, in 1962, for his contributions to medical science.

Rabindra Narain Singh is an Indian orthopedic surgeon and the former president (2006–07) of Bihar Orthopedic Association. He is an honorary consultant at Anup Memorial Orthopaedic Centre and Research Institute, a Patna-based orthopedic healthcare centre and the director of Anup Institute of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Indian Medical Association Academy of Medical Specialists. He holds the chair of the Institute Ethics Committee of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna, a member of the Ad-hoc Committee of the Bihar chapter of the Indian Red Cross Society and a life member of the Indian Foot and Ankle Society. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2010, for his contributions to medical science.

Indu Bhushan Sinha is an Indian nephrologist and medical academic from the Indian state of Bihar. He is a former professor and head of the department of nephrology at Patna Medical College and Hospital. He has served as the editor of The Patna Journal of Medicine of the Indian Medical Association (1986–89) and is a life member of the Indian Society of Nephrology. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2008, for his contributions to medical science.
