Kakarla Subba Rao was an Indian radiologist who served as the first director of Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad. For his contributions to the field of medicine, Rao was conferred Padma Shri in 2000, the fourth highest civilian award by the Government of India. He was also the founder and president of the Telugu Association of North America.

Vipin Buckshey is an Indian optometrist and the official optometrist to the President of India. Born on 3 June 1955 in Gwalior, in the Indian state of madhya Pradesh, he did his schooling at the Frank Anthony Public School after which secured a degree in optometry from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He started his career at Lawrence and Mayo, Delhi and a ophthalmic executive where he is reported to have established a contact lens division. Buckshey, who is known to have served five former Presidents of India and the Dalai Lama, is a former president of the Indian Contact Lens Society and the Indian Optometric Association and is credited with performing over 15,000 surgeries. He was honored by the Government of India, in 2000, with the fourth highest Indian civilian award Padma Shri.
Chittoor Mohammed Habeebullah was an Indian gastroenterologist, known for his contributions to the medical discipline of gastroenterology in India. Born in 1937 in the South Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, Habeebullah graduated in medicine (MBBS) from the Guntur Medical College in 1958, after which he secured his master's degree in general medicine (MD) from Andhra University and DM from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh. He started his career as an assistant professor at the Department of Gastroenterology, Osmania Medical College and served as the professor and the Head of the Department from 1975 to 1992 and thereafter as the principal till 1994. He also served as the Director, Centre for Liver Research and Diagnostics, Deccan College of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad and as the Director of Medical Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh. He was a 1997 Fellow of The National Academy of Sciences, India and had many scientific publications to his credit. A recipient of the Khwarizmi International Award in 1997, Habeebullah was honored by the Government of India, in 2001, with the fourth highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri. He died on 10 July 2010, falling to a cardiac arrest.
Bhupathiraju Somaraju, shortly B. Somaraju, is an Indian cardiologist and was the chairman of CARE Hospitals, Hyderabad. Author of many medical articles in peer reviewed journals and an elected fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, he was honoured by the Government of India, in 2001, with the fourth highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri.
Vijay Kumar Dada is an Indian ophthalmologist and a consultant at the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. An alumnus and a former chief of the Dr. R. P. Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, he has written several articles on eye diseases such as cataract and glaucoma. Dada, an elected fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, was honored by the Government of India, in 2002, with the fourth highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri.
Saumitra Rawat is an Indian surgical gastroenterologist and the head of Surgical Gastroenterology and Liver Transplant at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. The Government of India honoured him in 2015 with the award of Padma Shri.
Krishnaswami Srinivas Sanjivi (1903–1994) was an Indian medical doctor, Gandhian, social worker and the founder of Voluntary Health Services (VHS), a medical facility in Chennai reported to be serving the lower and middle-class people of the society. He was honoured by the Government of India in 1971 with Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian award. Five years later, the government followed it up by awarding him the third highest civilian award of Padma Bhushan in 1976.
Tehemton Erach Udwadia is an Indian surgeon and gastroenterologist, considered by many as the father of laparoscopic surgery in India. He is a general surgeon at two Mumbai hospitals, Breach Candy Hospital and Hinduja Hospital and is the founder president of the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo-Surgeons. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2006 and the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan in 2017 for his contributions to Indian medicine.
Mohan Kameswaran is an Indian otorhinolaryngologist, medical academic and the founder of MERF Institute of Speech and Hearing, a Chennai-based institution providing advanced training in audiology and speech-language pathology. He is one of the pioneers of cochlear implant surgery in India and a visiting professor at Rajah Muthiah Medical College of the Annamalai University and Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute, Chennai. He has many firsts to his credit such as the performance of the first auditory brain stem implantation surgery in South and South East Asia, the first pediatric brain stem implantation surgery in Asia, the first totally implantable hearing device surgery in Asia Pacific region, and the first to introduce KTP/532 laser-assisted ENT surgery in India. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2006, for his contributions to Indian medicine.
Dr. Cholenahalli Nanjappa Manjunath is an Indian cardiologist and the director of the Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research. He is reported to have developed a new protocol in balloon mitral valvuloplasty and is credited with the performance of the highest number of such procedures using Accura balloon catheter in India. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2007, for his contributions to Indian medicine. He Inaugurated the 410th edition Of Mysuru Dasara on 17 October 2020 which is the Nadahabba as a mark of honour for Corona warriors in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Keiki R. Mehta, an Indian ophthalmologist, medical researcher and writer, is considered by many as the father of Phacoemulsification in India. He is the Chief Surgical and Medical Director at Mehta International Eye Institute, a Mumbai-based specialty eye hospital founded by him. He is known to be the first surgeon to perform a Radial keratotomy in India and is credited with the development of the first soft eye implant in the world, and the Keiki Mehta BP Valve Glaucoma Shunt, a medical implant used in the treatment of neovascular‚ congenital and uveitic glaucoma. He is a recipient of several honours including the Grand Honors Award of the National Eye Research Foundation, Chicago and the Triple Ribbon Award of the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2008, for his contributions to Medicine.
Malvika Sabharwal is an Indian gynecologist and obstetrician at the Nova Specialty Hospitals of the Apollo Healthcare Group and at Jeewan Mala Hospital, New Delhi. The team led by her has been credited with the successful performance of the removal of the largest recorded fibroid through laparoscopic surgery. She leads the Gynae Endoscopy, a team of 140 doctors, involved in endoscopic surgical practices related to gynecology.
Anil Kohli is an Indian dental surgeon, medical administrator and a former president of the Dental Council of India. He is an elected fellow of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and holds the honorary rank of 'Brigadier' in the Army Dental Corps. He is a recipient of B. C. Roy Award, the highest Indian award in the medical category. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honor of the Padma Shri in 1992 and followed it up with the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan, in 2005, for his contributions to medicine, making him the first dentist to receive both the honors.

Shyama Prasad Mandal is an Indian orthopedic surgeon and the co-chairperson of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. After securing his graduate and MS degrees from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, he continued his education to secure the degree of MCh in orthopedics from Liverpool University. He is a former president of the Indian Orthopaedic Association as well as the president of its Building Committee and the incumbent president of Board of Trustees of Amarjyoti Charitable Trust, a not-for-profit organization engaged in educational and rehabilitation service. He has been involved with the organization of medical conferences, and was the co-chairman of the organizing committee of Knee and Arthroscopy Workshop of 2008 and the patron of the Lower Limb Symposia of 2012, conducted jointly by the Indian Federation of Sports Medicine, Indian Arthroscopy Society and Indian Association of Sports Medicine. He was in the news when he examined Sachin Tendulkar in 1999 for his recurring back injury. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2011, for his contributions to medical science. He is also a recipient of a civilian honor from the Government of Bangladesh. Indian Orthopedic Association has instituted an award, S. P. Mandal Gold Medal, in his honor.
Thenumgal Poulose Jacob is an Indian surgeon specializing in vascular surgery, and the founder Head of the Department of Vascular Surgery at Madras Medical College. Born in Aluva, in the south Indian state of Kerala, to Thenumgal Poulose and Mariam in a Malayali family, he did his under-graduate studies at UC College before graduating in medicine from Stanley Medical College, Chennai, and secured his MS degree from the same institution. He started his practice under government service at Madras Medical College where he helped establish the department of vascular surgery in 1978 and served as its founder head until his superannuation in 1993. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2014, for his contributions to medical science. He is married to Esther and the couple has a daughter, Siji Jacob, an academic and a son, Hasum Jacob Thenumgal, an engineer at TCS. He is in private practice at T. P. Jacob Clinic in Royapuram, Chennai and is also a consultant vascular surgeon at MV Hospitals for Diabetes, Royapuram.
Gopi Chand Mannam is an Indian cardiothoracic surgeon and the chief cardothoracic surgeon at Star Hospitals in Hyderabad, known for the performance of over 3,000 pediatric heart surgeries. After graduating from Guntur Medical College in 1981, he worked in Jamaica for two years at Victoria Jubilee Hospital in Kingston and Savanna-la-Mar Public General Hospital in Westmoreland, before moving to the UK where he secured a fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1986, followed by another fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow in 1987. He worked in the UK for five years, at the end of which he secured the fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of London before returning to India in 1994 to join the Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad as a senior consultant in cardiothoracic surgery.
Sudhir V. Shah is an Indian neurologist, professor and the head of the department of neurology at Smt. NHL Municipal Medical College, Ahmedabad. Holder of an MD in general medicine and a DM in neurology, he is associated with the Neurological Society of India, Indian Academy of Neurology and Association of Physicians of India as a member. He is known for his research on brain cells and books on neurology and Jainism which have reportedly been sold over 50,000 copies, the earnings of which have been donated to charities. He is a former chairman of the National Jain Doctor’s Federation as well as a director of neurosciences at Sterling Hospitals and has served as the honorary neurologist to the Governor of Gujarat. He has written several articles on neurology and spirituality which include Journey to Happiness and Peace, The Art and Science of Meditation, Diseases of The Brain and Nervous System, and Jainism: A Super Science and is a co-author of Meditation Must, a book detailing the medical aspects of meditation. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2016, for his contributions to medical science.
Arjunan Rajasekaran is an Indian urologist and one of the pioneers of male infertility therapy in India. He is a former Professor and Head of the Department of Urology at the Madras Medical College, the founder of Madras Andrology and Assisted Reproduction Research Centre, a Chennai-based male infertility clinic, and a recipient of Dr. B. C. Roy Award, the highest Indian award in the medical category. He heads the National Board of Examinations as its president, the highest academic position in the medical sector in India. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2008, for his contributions to medical science.
