Dr Leela Joshi is an Indian gynaecologist and social worker known for her work with tribal women and teenage girls suffering from Anemia in Ratlam district. [1] Nicknamed as the Mother Teresa of the Malwa region, Dr Joshi was conferred Padma Shri in 2020. [2]

Career

Dr Joshi began her career as an assistant surgeon with Indian Railways in Kota, Rajasthan. [3] She retired from the railways in 1997 from the position of Chief Medical Director. After retiring from active service, Dr Joshi moved to Ratlam district in Madhya Pradesh where she started providing free healthcare service to tribal women and children. [4]

She was listed among top 100 influential women of the country in a survey carried out by Dept of Women and Child Development and in 2020, she was awarded the Padma Shri India's fourth highest civilian award for her work amongst Tribals in Madhya Pradesh. [5] [6] [7] [8]

The Rajasthan Film Festival Award ceremony is a set of awards presented annually to honour both artistic and technical excellence of artistes in Rajasthani cinema as well as in other Regional Cinema of India. The awards were instituted in 2013. The 11th award ceremony was held on 30 September 2023 at Deep Smriti Auditorium. Aftab Shivdasani and Neha Dhupia did the hosting at the award night and Lifetime Achievement Award was given to the Bollywood actor Gulshan Grover. Bhakti Yadav was an Indian doctor who was the first female MBBS from Indore, India and she was recognised by being awarded one of India's highest civilian honors, Padma Shri. She was known for her generosity, including offering free treatment since 1948. She was a gynaecologist.

Shabbir Sayyad is a social activist from Maharashtra, India known for his works toward welfare of animals and cow protection. He has been taken care of over 100 cattles in the draught ridden district of Beed in Maharashtra. In 2019, he received Padma Shri, India's 4th highest civilian award. His father, Noorjade Sayyad, started the practice of cattle rearing in 1970s And Shabbir born in 26 March 2000s in the city of Mumbai and he help his father in the age of 12 .Shabbir is known to not earn money by selling milk or meat of cow but only sells cowdung. He sells bulls only for agricultural usage in farms.

Jitender Singh Shunty, is an Indian politician and social worker. Shunty was elected as a member of the Legislative Assembly from Shahdara from Bhartiya Janta Party in 2013. He is the founder of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Seva Dal, an NGO that helps to cremate unclaimed bodies and immerse the ashes as guided by the Hindu and Sikh religion. It all started after an incident in 1996 at a crematorium.

Suryamal Mishran Shikhar Award is a literary honour granted by the Rajasthani Bhasha Sahitya and Sanskriti Akademi for special contribution to Rajasthani literature. It was established in the memory of the 19th century poet-historian Suryamal Misran.

Kamlakar Tripathi is an Indian physician and Former Professor in the Department of Medicine, BHU Institute of Medical Sciences. He has been the Head of Nephrology Department. He has served as the Chairman of the Department of General Medicine, BHU from 1998 to 2001 and the President of the Indian Hypertension Society from 2008 to 2009. He also held the responsibility of Dean in-charge of the BHU Institute.
