Prasad had graduated in medicine from Patna Medical College and passed FRCS in 1962.

Krishnaswami Srinivas Sanjivi (1903–1994) was an Indian medical doctor, Gandhian, social worker and the founder of Voluntary Health Services (VHS), a medical facility in Chennai reported to be serving the lower and middle-class people of the society. Lala Suraj Nandan Prasad (1914–2009) was an Indian pediatrician and a former professor of pediatrics of the Patna Medical College and Hospital whose efforts were reported behind the establishment of the department of pediatrics and the development of the children's ward into a 250 bedded Children's Hospital at the institution. He was the founder president of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics when the organization was formed in 1964 though the merger of erstwhile Indian Pediatric Society and the Association of Pediatricians of India. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri in 1974.
Shishupal Ram was an Indian pediatrician. Born in the Indian state of Bihar, he was a graduate of the Patna Medical College. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest Indian civilian honour of Padma Shri in 1983. He died on 29 October 2011 at the age of 84.

Shyam Narayan Arya is an Indian physician, writer and the former National Professor and dean of the College of General practitioners of the Indian Medical Association (IMA_GP). He has published several medical papers and monographs, has contributed chapters to books published by others and has delivered keynote addresses in many medical conferences. He is an alumnus of the Patna Medical College and Hospital of the Patna University and a Fellow of the Indian Association of Clinical Medicine (IACM), where he has served as its National President. He is a recipient of the Dr. B. C. Roy Award, the highest Indian medical award. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2008, for his contributions to medicine.
D. S. Rana is an Indian nephrologist and the Chairman of the Department of Nephrology at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, known for his proficiency in renal transplant procedures. Born in Dasmal, Hamirpur in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, he graduated in medicine from the Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla and did his advanced training in clinical nephrology at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh. He is an international scholar of the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio and is a member of the Board of Management of the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. Parvati Education and Health Society, an organization founded by Rana operates a small 5-bedded hospital in his native village of Dasmal for the rural poor. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri in 2009, for his contributions to Medicine. He is the first Himachal Pradesh resident awarded Padma Shri.
Dukhan Ram (1899–1990) was an Indian ophthalmologist, academic, legislator and the vice chancellor of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University. He was the principal of Patna Medical College, one of the oldest medical colleges in India, and the president of Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha, a satellite organization of Arya Samaj, founded by Dayanand Saraswati. He successfully contested the 1962 Bihar Legislative Assembly election from Sasaram constituency, on Indian National Congress candidature and served as the president of All India Ophthalmological Society in 1961. The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan, in 1962, for his contributions to medical science.
Ravindra Kumar Sinha is a Padma Shri awarded Indian biologist and environmentalist. He served as Vice-Chancellor of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University from 2019-2023 and also served in Nalanda Open University. Previously he was the Head of the Department of Zoology at Patna University, and is a pioneer researcher and wildlife conservationist, famous for his efforts for the conservation of Gangetic Dolphins, he is popularly known as the "Dolphin Man of India".
Raja Radhika Raman Prasad Sinha (1937–2008) was an Indian civil engineer and a writer of Hindi literature. Born in Patna, in the Indian state of Bihar on May 26, 1937 as the eldest son of Gorakh Prasad and Umraoti Devi couple, Sinha was the pioneer of Hindi fiction and authored several books including The Gandhi Cap and Other Short Stories and Decoding Rig-Veda: For the Knowledge of Science. After his early education at St. Xavier's College, Ranchi, he graduated in electrical engineering from Birsa Institute of Technology Sindri and started his career as a member of faculty at Patna Engineering College. Later he joined the Bihar State Electricity Board where he spent the rest of his career before retiring in 1996 as the general manager of Patna Electric Supply Undertaking (PESU). He was married to Vidya Sinha and the couple had two sons and a daughter. The Government of India awarded him Padma Bhushan, the third highest Indian civilian award, in 1962. The Government of Bihar has instituted an annual award, Raja Radhika Raman Prasad Singh Prize, in his honor. He died on March 2, 2008.
