The Highland Council, the political body covering the Highland local authority created in 1995, comprises 21 wards, each electing three or four councillors by the single transferable vote system, which creates a form of proportional representation. The total number of councillors is 74, and the main meeting place and main offices are at the Highland Council Headquarters in Glenurquhart Road, Inverness.

Elections to Dacorum Borough Council in Hertfordshire, England were held on 3 May 2007. The whole council was up for election with boundary changes since the last election in 2003 reducing the number of seats by one. The Conservative Party remained in overall control of the council after winning 44 of the 51 seats which they partly attributed to national events, while the Liberal Democrats lost 2 seats but were pleased to become the official opposition.

The Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) is the unicameral legislature of the Palestinian Authority, elected by the Palestinian residents of the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and Gaza Strip. It currently comprises 132 members, elected from 16 electoral districts of the Palestinian Authority. The PLC has a quorum requirement of two-thirds, and since 2006 Hamas and Hamas-affiliated members have held 74 of the 132 seats in the PLC. The PLC's activities were suspended in 2007 and remained so as of November 2023, while PLC committees continue working at a low rate and parliamentary panel discussions are still occurring.

The 2015 City of York Council election took place on 7 May 2015 to elect members of City of York Council in England. The whole council was up for election. Turnout was substantially up across the city due to the election being held on the same day as the general election and other local elections in England.

The 2007 Reading Borough Council election was held on 3 May 2007, at the same time as other local elections across England and Scotland. Sixteen of the 46 seats on Reading Borough Council were up for election, being the usual third of the council plus a by-election in Church ward where Labour councillor Azam Janjua had resigned. Labour lost seven seats on the council, with the Conservatives gaining six seats and the Liberal Democrats one seat. Despite these losses, Labour retained a majority on the council.
