The 2021 Arlington mayoral election was held on May 1, 2021 [1] to decide the mayor of Arlington, Texas. Incumbent mayor Jeff Williams retired due to term limits. [2] A runoff was held on June 5, 2021 [3] between Jim Ross and Michael Glaspie after no candidate received a majority of the vote in the nonpartisan primary election.

The election began as a nonpartisan blanket primary, no candidate took a majority of over 50% of the total vote so the two top vote-earners Eric Johnson and Scott Griggs advanced to a runoff election on June 8. Incumbent mayor Mike Rawlings was unable to run for reelection due to term limits. Dallas also concurrently elected all 14 members of its city council, and 3 of the 9 total members of the Dallas Independent School District. Johnson won the runoff with 55.61%.

Incumbent mayor Betsy Price, who had served as the city's mayor since 2011, announced on January 6, 2021, that she would not seek a sixth term. Ten candidates ran in the primary election. Early voting in person began on April 19, 2021. Since no candidate received a majority of the vote on May 1, the top two finishers, Democrat Deborah Peoples and Republican Mattie Parker, advanced to a June 5, 2021 runoff election. Parker won the runoff and was elected mayor.

She was elected in 2021 after serving as Chief of Staff for the Mayor and the Fort Worth City Council for five years. She is the youngest mayor of a major American city in U.S. history. After coming in second place in the first round of voting in May, Parker faced off against Deborah Peoples, the Tarrant County Democratic Party chair, in the run-off election on June 5, 2021. Parker received 53.5% of the vote in the nominally non-partisan election.
