In India, the Head of Forest Forces (HoFF) is the highest ranking officer of the elite Indian Forest Service (IFS), one of the three all India services with the other two being IAS and IPS, in the Indian States and Union Territories. Each Head of Forest Forces is an IFS officer. The HoFF is the head of the forest department in Indian states and is selected by the Governor, based on the recommendation of the council of ministers led by the Chief Minister, from among the senior most Principal Chief Conservators of Forests in the state. The HoFF is equivalent to the State Police Chief, Chief Secretary and Lieutenant General of army in rank and influence.

The Indian Administrative Service (IAS) is the administrative arm of the All India Services of Government of India. Civil servants recruited through All India Services by the central government are assigned to different state government cadres. Some civil servants may, later in their career, also serve the centre on deputation. Officers of these three services comply to the All India Services Rules relating to pay, conduct, leave, various allowances etc.

It was constituted in the year 1966 under the All India Services Act, 1951, by the Government of India.

The Indian Ordnance Factories Service (IOFS) is a civil service of the Government of India. IOFS officers are Gazetted defence-civilian officers under the Ministry of Defence. They are responsible for the administration of the Indian Ordnance Factories, which provide the indigenous defence production capabilities of India.

Sanjiv Chaturvedi is an Indian Forest Service (IFoS) officer posted as Chief Conservator of Forest (Research) at Haldwani in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand. Chaturvedi was a Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) at AIIMS, New Delhi from 2012 to 2014, and served in the government of Haryana from 2005 to 2012.

The Home Department is a department of Government of Bihar. It plays a key role in maintenance of administration in the state of Bihar. The department oversees the maintenance of law and order, prevention and control of crime, prosecution of criminals besides dealing with Fire Services and Prisons Administration. It is the nodal department for the State Secretariat Service and is also responsible for the functioning of State Police and Home Guards Services. The department is also the cadre controlling authority of Indian Police Service (IPS) and Bihar Police Service (BPS). Dhalbhumgarh Airport is a proposed domestic airport, which will serve the city of Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India. It will be built on a former World War II era airfield in Dhalbhumgarh in East Singhbhum district, about 60 km (37 mi) from Jamshedpur. The Government of Jharkhand and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the construction of the airport on 24 January 2019. Under the MoU, a joint venture company would be set up to construct the airport. The project was initially expected to be completed by December 2020.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Provincial Forest Service</span>

Provincial Forest Service, often abbreviated to as PFS, is one of the state natural resource services under Group 'A' state service of Government of Uttar Pradesh responsible for ensuring the ecological stability of the country via thorough protection and participatory sustainable forestry, wildlife and environment. It is also the feeder service for Indian Forest Service in the state.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Kerala Administrative Service</span> Administrative civil service under the government of Kerala

The Kerala Administrative Service (KAS) is the administrative cadre of the Government of Kerala started in the year 2018. The Kerala Public Service Commission conducts exams to recruit candidates for the service. Selection is through a three-stage examination followed by a training of 18 months. It aims to build a cadre of public servants as a second line of managerial talent for effective implementation of govt services in Kerala.
