Melaka Maju Jaya (Jawi: ملاک ماجو جاي)), pronounced [məlakamadʒudʒaja] ); "Malacca, Onwards Come!") is the official anthem of the Malaysia state of Malacca. [1] It was introduced and played for the first time on 31 August 1974 in conjunction with the state level independence day at that time.

The music was composed by Saiful Bahri, who also wrote the lyrics to the Selangor state anthem, Duli Yang Maha Mulia and Alias Arshad of the Royal Malaysian Police, while the lyrics were composed by a committee led by state secretary Datuk Haji Abu Mansor bin Haji Hassan. [2] [3] On 16 August 1994, the Malacca state government approved the modifications of the lyrics and tempo of the state anthem at its Executive council meeting to be played on 31 August that year. [4]

Kampung Hulu Mosque is a mosque situated at Kampong Hulu Village in Malacca City, Malacca, Malaysia. It is the oldest mosque in Malacca and among the oldest in the country, having originally built around the year 1720–1728 and underwent renovation in 1892. The architectural design of the mosque is a cross between Javanese Architecture, Local Malay, Sumateran, and Sini. The minaret, ablution pool and entrance arch were built at the same time with the main building. The minaret resembles a pagoda with the style of "Balai Nobat Melayu". An ancient cemetery lies next to the mosque in where some notable preachers and missionaries are buried.

Saiful Bahri was an Indonesian saxophonist, violinist, bandleader, composer, and songwriter, active in Indonesia and Malaysia during the 1950s and 1960s. He was also famous for conducting a number of orchestras during the period. Bahri composed and wrote Melaka Maju Jaya, the Malaccan state anthem, and wrote the lyrics to Duli Yang Maha Mulia, the Selangor state anthem.
