Silva Island is an island in San Francisco Bay, formerly completely separated from the mainland but now mostly connected. It is in Marin County, California. Its coordinates are 37°53′15″N122°30′54″W / 37.88750°N 122.51500°W / 37.88750; -122.51500 (Silva Island) [1] , and the United States Geological Survey gave its elevation as 79 ft (24 m) in 1981. [1]

It was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) after Alex V. Acosta of the United States Geological Survey (usgs) in Flagstaff, Arizona. He is a computer and graphic specialist, and was part of the USGS team that compiled the 1:5,000,000-scale Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer satellite image maps of Antarctica and the 1:250,000-scale Landsat image maps of the Siple Coast area in the 1990s.

Mousam River

The Mousam River is a 29.7-mile-long (47.8 km) river in York County, Maine, United States. Its primary source is Mousam Lake, located between the towns of Shapleigh and Acton, and it flows into the Atlantic Ocean just west of Kennebunk Beach. It flows through the towns of Shapleigh, Sanford and Kennebunk.

Bellvale is a populated place in San Mateo County, located at 37°18′43″N122°19′12″W. The small community is on Highway 84 between San Gregorio and La Honda. Bellvale has an elevation of 240 feet above sea level. Although Bellvale once had a post office, the community is now only sparsely settled with homes and farms. The Bellvale post office, located 2.25 miles west of La Honda, opened in 1897 and was discontinued in 1922. U.S. Geological Survey maps show oil wells in the area, tapping a relatively small pool of petroleum that was first identified in the nineteenth century.

Rush Glacier

Rush Glacier is a glacier in Antarctica. Situated in southern Brabant Island, it is 4 nautical miles (7 km) long, draining the northwest slopes of Solvay Mountains and flowing west between Mount Aciar and Mount Sarnegor into the Buragara Cove of Dallmann Bay in the Palmer Archipelago. It was shown on an Argentine government chart in 1953, but not named. It was photographed by Hunting Aerosurveys Ltd in 1956–57, and mapped from these photos in 1959. The glacier was named by the United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) for Benjamin Rush (1745–1813), a noted American physician and philanthropist, and a signatory of the Declaration of Independence.

Lister Glacier (Palmer Archipelago)

Lister Glacier is a glacier 5 nautical miles (9 km) long and 1 nautical mile (2 km) wide, draining the northeast slopes of Stribog Mountains and flowing into Bouquet Bay just south of Duclaux Point on the northeast side of Brabant Island, in the Palmer Archipelago, Antarctica.
