Calvin Ross Barnes is an American actor, director, screenwriter, film producer, novelist, and playwright. Barnes moved to Los Angeles in 2009, where he began his career by starring in short films, appearing in television commercials, and writing screenplays. His stage play Rise. won ‘Best World Premiere’ at the 2012 Hollywood Fringe Festival in Hollywood, California. Barnes has since appeared in the Universal Studios horror film, Unfriended (2014), which was executive produced by Jason Blum, and penned the original screenplay for the independent drama, Adolescence (2018). He has one published novel, True Grandeur (2017), and stars in the upcoming feature film, The Astrid Experience, which marks his directorial debut.
V2. Escape from Hell is a 2021 Russian prison action thriller war biopic film directed by Timur Bekmambetov. The film stars Thure Riefenstein, Pavel Priluchny, Pavel Chinarev and Daria Zlatopolskaya. Based on a true story, memories of Soviet Union pilot Mikhail Devyatayev written in his autobiography books was bought into cinematic format rendered into a military World War II film produced by Bazelevs Company. The film is the first large-scale vertical format film featuring dynamic combat aircraft battles. Mikhail Devyatayev enrolled at the Soviet Air Forces for the World War. In July 1944, while on a sortie for the 1st Ukrainian Front, his plane was shot down and the pilots were captured in German captivity. In the most difficult conditions, Devyatayev managed to develop and implement an escape plan from Hitler's heavily guarded, secret weapons V2 rocket construction prison, Usedom. The film had a wide release on 29 April 2021.
