Fūryū odori (風流踊, lit. 'elegant dances') are traditional folk dances often consisting of large processions of participants typically wearing colorful costumes and accompanied by props. Another form represented below is nenbutsu odori (念仏踊) and the syncretic nenbutsu fūryū (念仏風流). In these dances, dancing is accompanied by Buddhist chanting and hymns.
The most common surviving example of these dances is the bon odori .

The Shinjō Matsuri (新庄まつりの山車行事) is a Japanese festival celebrated from 24 to 26 August in Shinjō, Yamagata Prefecture. Mikoshi and approximately twenty floats are drawn through the streets, accompanied by odori, drums, and other performers. It has a two hundred and fifty-year history and was designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property in 2009.
The Hitachi Furyumono (日立風流物) is a parade in Hitachi city, Japan. It is held during Hitachi Sakura Matsuri (日立さくらまつり), the annual cherry blossom festival in April, and the Great Festival at the local Kamine Shrine once in every seven years in May. It is inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists as a part of "Yama, Hoko, Yatai, float festivals in Japan", 33 traditional Japan festivals.
Mibu no Hana Taue (壬生の花田植) is ritual of transplanting rice that is held every year on the first Sunday of June in Kitahiroshima, Hiroshima, in hopes of a good harvest. It is a traditional event. It has been designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan and is listed in the Representative List of Human Intangible Cultural Heritage of the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Tsuchizaki-Minato is a neighbourhood located in Akita City, Akita Prefecture, Japan. As of 1 October 2009, the neighbourhood had an estimated population of 21,310 and a population density of 3,400 persons per km². The total area of the neibourhood is 6.29 square kilometres (2.43 sq mi). Annexed by the city in 1941, it borders the neighborhoods of Shogunno on the east, Iijima on the north, Mukaihama on the west and Terauchi on the south. The Tsuchizaki area is a port town that developed at the mouth of the Omono River and a place of Port of Akita and Japan Railway Tsuchizaki factory. Tsuchizaki Float Festival is a celebration in the neighbourhood, held every year from July 20 to 21. The Tsuchizaki air raid burned the port facilities and killed more than 250 people on August 14 and 15, 1945.
Kamakura is a type of traditional snow dome or quinzhee in snowy regions of Japan. Kamakura may also refer to the various ceremonial winter celebrations involving those snow domes, or to the Shinto deity Kamakura Daimyojin (鎌倉大明神), who is revered during some of those celebrations. During some kamakura festivals, altars are set up inside domes of snow and Shinto rites are performed.
Doburoku Matsuri or Doburoku Festival is a festival held at shrines and other places where doburoku is served. Doburoku is a Japanese sake that holds religious significance. Sanctified Doburoku is called Omiki and is accompanied by a series of rituals.
