Mkushi District is a district of Zambia, located in Central Province. The capital lies at Mkushi. As of the 2022 Zambian Census, the district had a population of 208,635 people. [1] The Great North Road and TAZARA railway run through Mkushi district, connecting Kapiri Mposhi with Serenje, Mpika, Kasama & Tanzania. The area is largely undeveloped and home to numerous natural attractions including Lunsemfwa Wonder Gorge, Changwena Falls, and historic Fort Elwes.
Bemba is the primary tribal affiliation of Mkushi district and the area is home to an annual harvest festival known as Chibwelamushi (translated as "return to the village"), bringing together the Bisa, Swaka, and Lala peoples, every September. [2] Traditional crafts include clay pots, reed mats, and baskets and may still be found in the area, although increased access to manufactured goods has reduced production in recent decades. [3] Mkushi district, like much of Central province, is mineral rich and manganese, gem, and gem deposits have attracted new mining development in the area, including the Fishtie copper project at Kashime. Mkushi is known for its large commercial agricultural operations and boast a substantial population of expatriate farmers, the majority of whom are white Zambians. The prestigious Chengelo school is located in Mkushi. [5]

Copperbelt Province is a province in Zambia which covers the mineral-rich Copperbelt, and farming and bush areas to the south. It was the backbone of the Northern Rhodesian economy during British colonial rule and fuelled the hopes of the immediate post-independence period, but its economic importance was severely damaged by a crash in global copper prices in 1973. The province adjoins the Haut-Katanga province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which is similarly mineral-rich.

Mithi is a city and the administrative capital of Tharparkar District in the Sindh province of Pakistan. It became the district headquarter of Tharparkar District in 1990, after the area's separation from Mirpur Khas. Mithi is one of the very few cities in Pakistan where Hindus form a majority. The 2000 Zambian census was conducted in Zambia in 2000 by DRS under approval of the Government of Zambia, which recorded demographic data from 13 million people and 4 million households. Planning for the project commenced in 1998. In October 2000 the census started, with more than 30,000 workers across Zambia completing the 17 million double-sided A4 forms. The census was completed in May 2001. The scanning was undertaken in collaboration with the Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ) and published by the Central Statistical Office. The census was noted by the Milton Keynes & North Bucks Chamber of Commerce and the DRS received a special commendation for its census work in Africa.

Drazanda Tehsil is an administrative subdivision (tehsil) of Dera Ismail Khan District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It borders South Waziristan to the north, Dera Ghazi Khan and Musa Khel to the south and Zhob to the west. The capital is the town of Drazanda.
Serenje District is a district of Zambia, located in Central Province. The capital lies at Serenje. As of the 2022 Zambian Census, the district had a population of 158,192 people. It consists of two constituencies, namely Serenje and Muchinga. The district contains Lake Lusiwasi.
The 2010 Zambian census was conducted in Zambia in 2010 under the approval of the Government of Zambia, which recorded demographic data from 13 million people and 3.2 million households. The 2010 Census of Population and Housing was conducted between 16 October and 15 November 2010, with all parts of the country covered by 30 November 2010. It was the fifth national population census exercise of Zambia since its independence in 1964, with the previous censuses conducted in 1969, 1980, 1990 and 2000. A total of 3.2 million questionnaires were used for data collection and the processing started in April 2011 by the Central Statistical Office. Optical Mark Reading (OMR) and Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) technology were used for data capture. The census was funded by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the United Kingdom AID, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the African Development Bank (AfDB), who contributed close to 60 per cent of the total expenditure and rest contributed by the Ministry of Finance of the Government of Zambia.
Chisamba District is a district of Central Province, Zambia. It covers a total surface area of 5,204.5 sq km and is known for its agricultural activities with over 32,000 small scale farming families and 256 commercial farmers, the majority of whom are white Zambians. It shares borders with Lusaka, Chongwe, Chibombo, Kabwe, Kapiri Mposhi and Luano Districts. The District has a total population of 160,828.
Ikelenge District is a district of North-Western Province, Zambia. It was separated from Mwinilunga District in 2011.
The Lala people are a Bantu ethnic group found in the Serenje District of the Central Province of Zambia.
