All on board were rescued by the South Shields Lifeboat. She was on a voyage from Quebec City, Province of Canada, British North America to South Shields, County Durham. The survivor was taken off the wreck on 22 November by Reindeer (Civil Ensign of the United Kingdom.svg  United Kingdom ). Golden Age was on a voyage from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Ponce, Puerto Rico.
