Comedy Central is an American cable channel owned by Paramount Global through its network division's MTV Entertainment Group unit, based in Manhattan. The channel carries comedy programming in the form of both original, licensed, and syndicated television series, stand-up comedy specials, and feature films.

Ruhuna 2001 Multivision, doing business as Comet Cable, was a pay TV service started in 1997 in Colombo Sri Lanka. The service was provided using Analog MMDS Technology. The telethon was the most widely distributed telethon in history. The event was broadcast from Studio 36 at CBS Television City in Los Angeles, Kaufman Astoria Studios in Queens, New York and a private club, The Hospital, in London. There were also live reports from Haiti.

Created by Global Citizen and the European Commission, it consisted of a summit and a concert featuring different personalities aimed to highlight the disproportionate impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on marginalized communities.
