Ciclometasone (brand names Cycloderm, Telocort) is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid which is marketed in Italy. [1] [2]
Clobetasol is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid. A propionate ester of clobetasol, clobetasol propionate, has also been marketed, and is far more widely used in comparison.
Fluorometholone, also known as 6α-methyl-9α-fluoro-11β,17α-dihydroxypregna-1,4-diene-3,20-dione, is a synthetic glucocorticoid which is used in the treatment of inflammatory eye diseases. The C17α acetate ester, fluorometholone acetate, is also a glucocorticoid and is used for similar indications.
Fluocinolone is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid which was never marketed. The acetonide cyclic ketal of fluocinolone, fluocinolone acetonide, in contrast, has been marketed.
Fluprednidene, also known as fluprednylidene, is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid which was never marketed. An acetate ester of fluprednidene, fluprednidene acetate, in contrast, has been marketed.
Acecarbromal (INN), also known as acetylcarbromal and acetyladalin, is a hypnotic and sedative drug of the ureide (acylurea) group discovered by Bayer in 1917 that was formerly marketed in the United States and Europe. It is also used in combination with extract of quebracho and vitamin E as a treatment for erectile dysfunction under the brand name Afrodor in Europe. Acecarbromal is structurally related to the barbiturates, which are basically cyclized ureas. Prolonged use is not recommended as it can cause bromine poisoning.
Prednimustine, sold under the brand names Mostarina and Sterecyst, is a medication which is used in chemotherapy in the treatment of leukemias and lymphomas. It is the ester formed from two other drugs, prednisolone and chlorambucil. Rarely, it has been associated with myoclonus.
Chlorproethazine, sold under the brand name Neuriplege, is a drug of the phenothiazine group described as a muscle relaxant or tranquilizer which is or has been marketed in Europe as a topical cream for the treatment of muscle pain. It has been associated with photoallergic contact dermatitis.
Stenbolone is an anabolic–androgenic steroid (AAS) of the dihydrotestosterone (DHT) group which was never marketed. A C17β ester prodrug of stenbolone, stenbolone acetate, is used as an AAS for depot intramuscular injection under the brand names Anatrofin and Stenobolone.
Hydrocortamate is a synthetic glucocorticoid with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. It is used topically to treat inflammation due to corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses.
Fluclorolone is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid which was never marketed. The acetonide cyclic ketal of fluclorolone, fluclorolone acetonide, in contrast, has been marketed.
Quinestradol, also known as quinestradiol or quinestriol, as well as estriol 3-cyclopentyl ether (E3CPE), is a synthetic estrogen and estrogen ether which is no longer marketed. It is the 3-cyclopentyl ether of estriol. The medication has been studied in the treatment of stress incontinence in elderly women, with effectiveness observed.
Flugestone, also known as flurogestone, as well as 9α-fluoro-11β,17α-dihydroxyprogesterone, is a steroidal progestin of the 17α-hydroxyprogesterone group that was never marketed. An acetate ester, flurogestone acetate, is used in veterinary medicine.
Clostebol acetate is a synthetic, injected anabolic-androgenic steroid (AAS) and a derivative of testosterone that is marketed in Germany and Italy. It is an androgen ester – specifically, the C17β acetate ester of clostebol (4-chlorotestosterone) – and acts as a prodrug of clostebol in the body. Clostebol acetate is administered via intramuscular injection.
Diflorasone is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid which was never marketed. A diacetate ester of diflorasone, diflorasone diacetate, in contrast, has been marketed.
Triphenylbromoethylene, also known as bromotriphenylethylene or as phenylstilbene bromide, is a synthetic nonsteroidal estrogen of the triphenylethylene group that was marketed in the 1940s similarly to the closely related estrogen triphenylchloroethylene.
Androstenediol dipropionate, or 5-androstenediol 3β,17β-dipropionate, also known as androst-5-ene-3β,17β-diol 3β,17β-dipropionate, is a synthetic anabolic–androgenic steroid and an androgen ester – specifically, the dipropionate diester of 5-androstenediol (androst-5-ene-3β,17β-diol) – which has been marketed in Europe, including in Spain, Italy, and Austria.
Dichlorisone is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid which was never marketed.
Halopredone is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid which was never marketed.
Fluocortin butyl, or fluocortin 21-butylate, is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid which is marketed in Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, and Italy. Chemically, it is the butyl ester derivative of fluocortin.
Cortobenzolone, also known as betamethasone salicylate, is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid and corticosteroid ester which is marketed in Spain.
