The CDP is a part of the Colorado Springs, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population of the Goldfield CDP was 63 at the United States Census 2020. The Goldfield post office operated from May 5, 1895, until June 3, 1932. [5] The community was named for a gold mine near the original town site. [6]
