Air India is the flag carrier of India, and was founded by JRD Tata of Tata Sons. It is based in New Delhi, and currently operates hubs in Delhi, and Mumbai with various focus cities across India. [1]

Contents

Air India commenced operations on 29 July 1946, operating under the Government of India. On 8 June 1948, a Lockheed Constellation L-749A named Malabar Princess operated the airline's first international flight between Mumbai and London Heathrow. [2]

As of March 2024, Air India serves a total of 37 international and 44 domestic destinations. [3] Its network spans across various destinations in Asia, North America, Africa, Europe and Oceania. The countries served the most by Air India include the United States with 5 destinations, and the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia with three destinations each. Currently, the longest flight operated by Air India is between San Francisco and Bengaluru using the 777-200LR. [4] This list does not contain destinations served by subsidiary Air India Express.

It is currently the main airport serving Hanoi, replacing the role of Gia Lam Airport. The airport consists of two passenger terminals. Terminal 1 serves domestic flights, and Terminal 2 serves all international flights to and from Hanoi. The airport is currently the main hub of the flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, travel carrier Vietravel Airlines, and an operating base of budget carriers Bamboo Airways, Pacific Airlines and VietJet Air.

Zadar Airport is an international airport serving Zadar, Croatia. It is located in Zemunik Donji, 8 km (5 mi) from the centre of Zadar. It is rapidly growing now with 70 destinations and had its 1,000,000th passenger in September 2023.
