Budapest Capital of Hungary

Budapest is the capital and most populous city of Hungary. It is the ninth-largest city in the European Union by population within city limits; the city has an estimated population of 1,752,286 over a land area of about 525 square kilometres. Budapest, which is both a city and county, forms the centre of the Budapest metropolitan area, which has an area of 7,626 square kilometres and a population of 3,303,786, comprising 33% of the population of Hungary.

The national flag of Hungary is a horizontal tricolour of red, white and green. In this exact form, it has been the official flag of Hungary since 23 May 1957. The flag's form originates from national republican movements of the 18th and 19th centuries, while its colours are from the Middle Ages. The current Hungarian tricolour flag is the same as the republican movement flag of the United Kingdom and the colours in that form were already used at least since the coronation of Leopold II in 1790, predating the first use of the Italian Tricolour in 1797.

The South Bačka District is one of seven administrative districts of the autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia. Geographically it lies in the southern part of Bačka and northern part of Syrmia. According to the 2011 census results, it has a population of 615,371 inhabitants. The administrative center of the district is the city of Novi Sad, which is also the capital and the largest city of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.

Hódmezővásárhely is a city in southeast Hungary, on the Great Hungarian Plain, at the meeting point of the Békés-Csanádi Ridge and the clay grassland surrounding the river Tisza. In 2017, it had a population of 44,009.

III. kerületi Torna- és Vívóegylet - formerly also known as III. Kerületi TUE or III. Kerületi TTVE - is a Hungarian football club based in Óbuda in the III district (kerületi) of Budapest. It was founded 24 January 1887. The club colours are blue and white. The club plays in the third division (NBIII) at its home stadium, the Hévízi út.

Demographics of Budapest

The population of Budapest was 1,735,041 on 1 January 2013. According to the 2011 census, the Budapest metropolitan area was home to 2,530,167 people and the Budapest commuter area had 3.3 million inhabitants. The Hungarian capital is the largest in the Pannonian Basin and the ninth largest in the European Union. Budapest is also the primate city of Hungary and some neighbouring territories.

The coat of arms of Budapest has existed since 1873, when the three main cities next the Danube river were united in one after existing during a millennium separately. The city committee that was planning the city's unification asked the master-painter Lajos Friedrich that design the coat of arms based in the cities' previous symbols and coats.

The Derby of Budapest is major football rivalry between Ferencvárosi TC and Újpest FC; however, other clubs from Budapest are also included such as Budapest Honvéd FC, Vasas SC, and MTK Budapest FC. Traditionally the Ferencváros - MTK rivalry was the most prestigious fixture but this has since been replaced by Ferencváros - Újpest.

The Holy Crown Society, is a legitimist and ultra-conservative civil organization and a former political party in Hungary.

Mayor of Budapest

The Mayor of Budapest is the head of the General Assembly in Budapest, Hungary, elected directly for 5-year term since 2014. Until 1994 the mayor was elected by the General Assembly. The office was called Chairman of the Council of Budapest between 1950 and 1990, during the Communist period.

Flag of Budapest

The flag of Budapest is the official municipal flag of Budapest, Hungary. The current design features the city's coat of arms on a white field. The top and bottom edges of the flag are occupied by alternating red and green isosceles triangles. It has been in effect since 15 September 2011, following a decree from the General Assembly of Budapest.

The 2020–21 Magyar Kupa is the 81st season of Hungary's annual knock-out cup football competition. The title holders were Honvéd by winning the 2020 Magyar Kupa Final.
