On 23 January, Meloni met with Prime Minister Aymen Benabderrahmane and laid a wreath at the Martyrs' Memorial, before visiting the garden dedicated to Enrico Mattei and greeting the crew of Italian Navy ship Carabiniere, docked in the port of Algiers.

The following day Meloni laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery, accompanied by the Italian ambassador to the United States Mariangela Zappia. At the end of her trip, she met with former US Secretary of State and Nobel Peace Prize recipient Henry Kissinger.

Later, after visiting the Memory Wall of Fallen Defenders, Prime Minister Meloni had a bilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, after which a security cooperation agreement was signed.

In the afternoon, Prime Minister Meloni chaired a video-conference meeting of the G7 Heads of State and Government from the Saint Sophia Cathedral, during which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also spoke.
