An oak savanna is a type of savanna-or lightly forested grassland- where oaks are the dominant trees, the term oakery or woodlands is also used commonly, though the former is more prevalent when referencing the Mediterranean area. These savannas were maintained historically through wildfires set by lightning, humans, grazing, low precipitation, and/or poor soil.

Caribou Mountains Wildland Park is a large wilderness area in northern Alberta, Canada. It is located in the Caribou Mountains, immediately west of Wood Buffalo National Park in a remote backcountry area. The closest community in Alberta is Fort Vermilion.
Beaulieu Heights is an extensive area of ancient woodland between South Norwood and Upper Norwood in the London Borough of Croydon, London. It is located between South Norwood Hill and Auckland Road with Auckland Rise to the north and Tummonds Gardens to the south. There are pedestrian entrances from South Norwood Hill and Auckland Rise, and a pond. The name is pronounced as if spelled "Beulah" like the nearby Beulah Hill, and not like the French word or the town of Beaulieu, Hampshire.

The Kountze Place neighborhood of Omaha, Nebraska is a historically significant community on the city's north end. Today the neighborhood is home to several buildings and homes listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is located between North 16th Avenue on the east to North 30th Street on the west; Locust Street on the south to Pratt Street on the north. Kountze Place was annexed into Omaha in 1887. The neighborhood was built as a suburban middle and upper middle class enclave for doctors, lawyers, successful businessmen and other professional workers.
Fontenelle Forest is a 1,400-acre (6 km2) forest, located near Bellevue, Nebraska. Its visitor features include hiking trails, a nature center, children's camps, a gift shop, and picnic facilities. The forest is listed as a National Natural Landmark and a National Historic District. The forest includes hardwood deciduous forest, extensive floodplain, loess hills, and marshlands.
Ash Hollow State Historical Park is located five miles (8.0 km) south of Lewellen in Garden County, Nebraska. The park comprises two attractions located 2.5 miles (4.0 km) from each other: Ash Hollow Cave and Windlass Hill.
The Dunns Pond Mound is a historic Native American mound in northeastern Logan County, Ohio, United States. Located near Huntsville, it lies along the southeastern corner of Indian Lake in Washington Township. In 1974, the mound was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a potential archeological site, with much of its significance deriving from its use as a burial site for as much as nine centuries.
The Ufferman Site is an archaeological site in the central part of the U.S. state of Ohio. Located north of the city of Delaware, it occupies approximately 2 acres (0.81 ha) of land near Delaware Lake on property near to the boundaries of Delaware State Park. It appears to have been the location of a village of the Cole culture, which inhabited the region during the later portion of the Woodland period. Ufferman lies only 0.6 kilometres (0.37 mi) south of the W.S. Cole Site, the type site for the culture, and approximately 23 kilometres (14 mi) north of the Highbank Park Works, which are believed to have been built by peoples of the Cole culture.
The West Oak Forest Earthlodge Site is a historic site located near Glenwood, Iowa, United States. It was discovered in 2009 by local archeologist Dennis Miller who found a depression of about 20 feet (6.1 m) in diameter, and a maximum depth of 24 inches (61 cm) below the surrounding area. It was authenticated by the Office of the State Archeologist the following year. This is one of 29 known earthlodges that exist from the Nebraska Phase of the Woodland period. The earthlodges were dwellings that were composed of four central support posts, surrounded by shorter outer wall posts, with wattle and daub walls and roof. The depression in the earth was caused by the natural decay and caving-in of the earthlodge itself. In addition to the depression there have been 231 artifacts found at the site that dates from sometime between 1250 and 1400 C.E. The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.
The Glenwood Archeological District is a nationally recognized historic district and archaeological sites located in the vicinity of Glenwood, Iowa, United States. It is one of nine sites from the Nebraska Phase of the Woodland period recognized by archaeologists, and the only one located east of the Missouri River. The district is made up of earth lodge sites, mortuary sites and artifact scatters from the Glenwood culture. They date from sometime between 1250 and 1400 C.E.. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.
The Kelso Site, near Mullen in Hooker County, Nebraska, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
