Loulay Kitchen and Bar, or simply Loulay, was a restaurant by Thierry Rautureau in Seattle, in the U.S. state of Washington. [1] [2]
The French menu included French onion soup, duck confit sliders, [3] roasted chicken, and braised short ribs. [4]
The restaurant opened in 2013. [5] Loulay closed in March 2020, following the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic in Seattle, and never reopened. Thierry Rautureau made the closure permanent in August 2021. [6] [7] [8]
The restaurant was dubbed "Best Restaurant of the year" by Seattle Metropolitan . [9] Thrillist gave it accolades as one of "The 21 best new restaurants in America", [10] and "Seattle's 11 best new restaurants of 2014". [11] Its burger was dubbed "Seattle's 10 best new burgers of 2014". [12]
Thierry Rautureau, nicknamed The Chef in the Hat, was a French-American celebrity chef based in Seattle, Washington. He was also the chef and owner of several former restaurants, including Loulay and Luc, but entered "semi-retired" following his restaurants' difficulties with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dig a Pony (DAP) was a bar and restaurant in Portland, Oregon. Named after the Beatles' song of the same name, the business opened in mid 2011. Dig a Pony closed in June 2022, following an ownership change.
