National Highway 230 (NH 230), also known as Kisan Path or Lucknow Outer Ring Road is National Highway in Uttar Pradesh, India which also includes sections of Lucknow Inner Ring Road. [1] The Lucknow outer ring road is an 8 lane that expand to 10 lanes at key junctions and 104 km long quadruple carriageway (2*4 lanes) [2] road project with a speed limit of 100kmph for Light Vehicles and 80kmph for Heavy vehicles. The 6 lane 11 km long stretch between Kursi Road to Sultanpur road (Kisan Path) has been constructed by the NHAI. This Ring Road has multiple 6 lane flyovers for smooth and swift commuting of the travellers. This Outer Ring Road will play a major role in the establishment of the Lucknow State Capital Region or the Uttar Pradesh State Capital Region as many IT cities, Housing Societies, Integrated Mega-Townships, Wellness City, Educational Hubs, and Commercial Hubs etc. across Multiple 1000's of acres of land are proposed to be established around this Ring Road. It is set to offload nearly 1.60 lakh vehicles off the main roads of the city of Lucknow as of now. [3]

Construction

The NHAI has divided the construction work of Lucknow outer ring road (NH-230) under 2 Phases into multiple packages. [4]

The first phase includes the development from Bakshi Ka Talab (BKT) to Asti Road, Sultanpur Road, Behta Road, Sitapur Road, Kursi Road, Ayodhya Road, Indira Canal, Mohanlalganj and Kanpur Road near Daroga Khera.

Old National Highway 2 or Old NH 2, was a major National Highway in India, that connected the states of Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. It constitutes a major portion of the historical Grand Trunk Road along with old NH 91 and old NH 1 in India. The highway connects national capital Delhi with Kolkata as well as important cities such as Faridabad, Mathura, Agra, Kanpur, Allahabad, Varanasi, Dhanbad, Asansol, Durgapur and Bardhaman.

Expressways are the highest class of roads in India. In July 2023, the total length of expressways in India was 5,930 km (3,680 mi), with 11,127.69 km (6,914.43 mi) under construction. These are controlled-access highways designed for high vehicular movement with speed limit of 120 km/h and entrance and exits are controlled by grade separated system interchanges whereas National highways are flyover access or tolled, where entrance and exit are done by service interchanges, flyovers are provided to bypass the city/town/village traffic and these highways are designed for speed of 100 km/h. Some roads are declared as expressways by their respective State Governments but not by the Government of India, such as Bagodara–Tarapur Expressway, Biju Expressway etc.

The Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) or Kundli–Ghaziabad–Palwal Expressway is a 135 km (84 mi) long, 6-lane wide expressway passing through the states of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh in India. The expressway starts from the Western Peripheral Expressway at Kundli, Sonipat, passing through Baghpat, Ghaziabad and Noida districts in UP and Faridabad district in Haryana before rejoining the Western Peripheral Expressway near Dholagarh, Palwal. Eastern Peripheral Expressway along with Western Peripheral Expressway completes the largest Ring Road around Delhi. The Eastern Peripheral Expressway was declared as National Expressway 2 (NE-2) in March 2006.

Moradabad Airport is a domestic airport in the city of Moradabad, situated midway between Moradabad and Rampur on National Highway 9 in Uttar Pradesh (UP). Being 19 km (12 mi) from the Moradabad Railway Station and 15 kms from the Rampur Railway Station, it's strategically located to serve both districts. It has been developed by upgrading the existing government airstrip.

Shaheed Path is a four lane outer bypass road constructed to divert traffic coming from and going to Kanpur Road or Faizabad Road to avoid the heavy traffic of the colonial streets and lanes of Lucknow.

The Agra–Lucknow Expressway is a 302 km long, 6-lane wide access-controlled expressway constructed by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) to reduce traffic in already congested roads and to reduce pollution and carbon footprint. The expressway reduced the distance between the cities of Agra and Lucknow in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh and is presently one of the India's longest operational expressways.

The Ring Road is a 147 kilometres ring road encircling the city of Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. It is built by Jaipur Development Authority (JDA). The expressway is designed for speeds up to 120 km/h. Construction of the Ring Road around Jaipur was conceived by PWD in December 2000 on BOT basis. In Phase I & II, a road with a length of 47 km will be constructed in the south of Jaipur, connecting Ajmer Road, Tonk Road and Agra Road. In Phase III, a road with a length of 97.75 km will be constructed in the northern part of Jaipur and will connect Agra Road, Delhi Road, Sikar Road and Ajmer Road.

Delhi–Meerut Expressway or National Expressway 3 is India's widest 96 km long controlled-access expressway, connecting Delhi with Meerut via Dasna in Ghaziabad in India. The 8 lanes old stretch of National Highway 9 (NH-9) up to Dasna is widened to 14 lanes. The fourth phase of the expressway is built on a new alignment from Dasna to Meerut – a six-lane stretch joining Meerut bypass. The 28 km (17 mi) stretch between Nizamuddin Bridge and Dasna is one of the most congested areas in the NCR. The total project cost is estimated to be between ₹8,000–10,000 crores.

Purvanchal Expressway is a 340.8 km long, 6-lane wide access-controlled expressway in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. The expressway connects Chand Saray village near Gosainganj in Lucknow district with Haydaria village on NH-31 in Ghazipur district. It is developed by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA). The Purvanchal Expressway has a 3.2 km long airstrip at Akhalkiri Karwat village near Kurebhar in Sultanpur district for emergency landing of aircraft. The construction work was started by the UPEIDA on 10 October 2018 and was inaugurated and opened to the public on 16 November 2021.

The Agra Metro is a rapid transit system in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. The metro is owned and operated by the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC). It is set to consist of two metro lines, with a total length of 29.65 kilometres (18.42 mi) and 27 stations. The Agra Metro is one of four rapid transit system in Uttar Pradesh, the others being the Lucknow Metro, Meerut Metro, Kanpur Metro, and Noida Metro.

The Outer Ring Road is a 119 km under construction ring road around the city of Nagpur, in Maharashtra. A part of the road is between NH 44 and NH 56 towards east of the city of 62 km length is already operational. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued work orders for execution of remaining stretch of 61 km. The value of work orders is Rs 1,170 crore making it the biggest ongoing road project in and around the city. After Pardi flyover, it would be second to be executed since city MP Nitin Gadkari became union minister for road transport and highways under which NHAI is functioning.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Delhi–Amritsar–Katra Expressway</span> Indian expressway connecting Delhi with Katra in J&K

Delhi–Amritsar–Katra Expressway is an approved 670 km (420 mi) long, 4-lane wide controlled-access expressway, which will connect Bahadurgarh border near Delhi with Katra in Jammu and Kashmir via Haryana and Punjab. It will have a spur section which will connect Nakodar with Sri Guru Ram Das Ji International Airport located in Raja Sansi, Amritsar. The 397.7 km (247.1 mi) long Delhi–Katra Expressway is National Expressway 5(NE-5) and 99 km (62 mi) long Nakodar-Amritsar Expressway is National Expressway 5A(NE-5A). Once completed, it will reduce the current Delhi-Katra distance from 727 km (452 mi) to 588 km (365 mi) and the time travel will be reduced from 14 hours to 6 hours, and Delhi-Amritsar distance to 405 km (252 mi) and from the time travel will be reduced from 8 hours to only 4 hours.

The Delhi–Mumbai Expressway is a 1,350 km long, 8-lane wide under-construction access-controlled expressway connecting India's national capital New Delhi to its financial capital Mumbai. The foundation stone for the project was laid by union minister of Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari in the presence of Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley on 8 March 2019 and it was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The total project value including the land acquisition cost is around ₹1,00,000 crores. It is expected to be completed by October 2025.

The Ring Road is an elevated section of road at Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh, India. It is an outer bypass road and crosses the Sharda River. It has been constructed to divert the traffic coming from Lucknow Road or Allahabad Road and vice versa, allowing vehicles to get to their destinations without entering the city of Raebareli. The Second phase is 22 km long with four lane road.

The Awadh Expressway also known as Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway connects two major cities Kanpur and Lucknow of the Awadh Region of Uttar Pradesh. It is an under-construction, 63-kilometre-long (39 mi), six-lane wide access-controlled expressway in India's Uttar Pradesh. It has been given the status of National Expressway 6 by the Government of India.

The Outer Ring Road is a proposed 140 kilometer, 6-lane ring road expressway encircling the capital city of Patna, Bihar, India.

The Kanpur Outer Ring Road, also known as Udyog Path is an under-construction 93-kilometre-long (58 mi) 6 lane access-controlled expressway ring road encircling the city of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India with a speed limit of 120kmph for Light Vehicles and 90kmph for Heavy vehicles.

Amritsar–Jamnagar Expressway (NH-754A) is an under-construction 1,257 km long, 6-lane wide expressway in the north-western part of India. The expressway will reduce the distance between Amritsar and Jamnagar from earlier 1,430 km to 1,316 km and the time travel from 26 hours to only 13 hours. It is a part of the Bharatmala and Amritsar–Jamnagar Economic Corridor (EC-3). It will pass through four states of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujarat.
