National Highway 112 (NH 112) is a highway in the Indian state of West Bengal. [1] It runs from Barasat to Petrapole border with Bangladesh. The road also known as Jessore road.
NH 112 was earlier denoted as NH 35.
It is one of the most important connecting links between Kolkata and Bangladesh. It is a part of the historic Jessore Road which runs from Shyambazar in North Kolkata to Jessore in Bangladesh.
NH 112 originates from National Highway 12 at Barasat Dak bangalow More and ends at Petrapole near Bangaon, traversing the district of North 24 Parganas. Its eastward continuation, N706 extends to Jessore District in Bangladesh.

The highway is also the part of projected highway network of Asian Highway 1 which starts from Tokyo, Japan and end in Istanbul, Turkey.
Barasat is a city and a municipality of North 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is the headquarters of Barasat Sadar subdivision. It is close to Kolkata and a part of the area covered by Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA). National Highway 12, NH 112, Taki Road and Barrackpore-Barasat Road are the main connectivity links to the city.

While the Dum Dum-Barasat sector is now part of NH 12, the Barasat-Petrapole sector is now part of NH 112. It continues in Bangladesh as N706 from Benapole to Jessore. The whole road is the part of Asian Highway 1. The road acts as a major link between places in and around Kolkata, especially Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport and Barasat. The road meets commuter (suburban) rail link at Barasat Junction railway station. Metro stations on this road include Shyambazar and Belgachia.

Sealdah railway division is one of the four railway divisions under the Eastern Railway zone of the Indian Railways. Its headquarters is located in Kaiser Street in Kolkata, West Bengal near the Sealdah railway station. It is a part of the Kolkata Suburban Railway and is under the jurisdiction of the Sealdah railway division of the Eastern Railway zone of Indian Railways.
The N706 or Jessore–Benapole highway or historically known as Jessore Road is a National Highway in Bangladesh. It connects Doratana, Jessore to Benapole Border Crossing at the international border with India where it meets with NH 112.
