Toni Cuquerella (born 14 April 1973) is a Spanish engineer and television presenter. He currently works for DAZN as Formula One commentator.

Biography

Cuquerella was graduated from Technical University of Valencia with a degree in industrial engineering. After working for Campos Racing and Cupra Racing, he made his Formula One debut in 2006 as the race engineer for Super Aguri F1. He moved to the BMW Sauber F1 Team in 2008, when he became the race enginner of Robert Kubica. [1] He joined HRT Formula 1 Team at the end of 2009, and got promoted to technical director for the 2012 season. [2]

Cuquerella moved acoss to the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters series following the omission of the HRT team. [3] He returned to the F1 paddock in 2015, joining Scuderia Ferrari as chief race engineer. [4] He left the team ahead of the 2017 season. [5]

Cuquerella was signed by Movistar in 2017 as the commentator for Formula One. [6] He switched to Formula E one year later, and working under multiple titles for Mahindra Racing from 2018 to 2022. [7] In 2023, he joined DAZN as Formula One commentator. [8]

It was founded in 1970 by Peter Sauber, who progressed through hillclimbing and the World Sportscar Championship to reach Formula One in 1993. Sauber operated under their own name from 1993 until 2005 and from 2011 until 2018. They were known as BMW Sauber from 2006 to 2010 and as Alfa Romeo from 2019 to 2023 in partnership deals with BMW and Alfa Romeo, respectively. Sauber returned in 2024 as Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber, and is set to be the Audi works team from 2026 onwards, with the German outfit planning to acquire the Swiss team.

The 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship was the 64th season of FIA Formula One motor racing. Red Bull Racing won its maiden Constructors' Championship with a 1–2 finish in Brazil, while Red Bull Racing's Sebastian Vettel won the Drivers' Championship after winning the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi. In doing so, Vettel became the youngest World Drivers' Champion in the 61-year history of the championship. Vettel's victory in the championship came after a dramatic season finale at Abu Dhabi where three other drivers could also have won the championship – Vettel's Red Bull Racing teammate Mark Webber, Ferrari's Fernando Alonso and McLaren's Lewis Hamilton.

Formula One sponsorship liveries have been used since the 1968 season. Before the arrival of sponsorship liveries in 1968 the nationality of the team determined the colour of a car entered by the team, e.g. cars entered by Italian teams were rosso corsa red, cars entered by French teams were bleu de France blue, and cars entered by British teams were British racing green. Major sponsors such as BP, Shell, and Firestone had pulled out of the sport ahead of this season, prompting the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile to allow unrestricted sponsorship.

The 2013 FIA Formula One World Championship was the 67th season of FIA Formula One motor racing. It featured the 64th FIA Formula One World Championship, a motor racing series for Formula One cars, recognised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) – the governing body of motorsport – as the highest class of competition for open-wheel racing cars.
